It's 5:30am and the fire alarm has just gone off for the 3rd time in 5 hours (12:45am, 2:45am, 5:15am). Last week it went off 3 times. And it lasts for 5-10 minutes until the fire department comes and shuts it off. It's not the typical beeping alarm. It's a shrill, ear piercing alarm that you can hear from 3 blocks away. My family has lived here for 6 years and it's been an issue the whole time. They've always been "working on it". We even got an email yesterday detailing the work that they're doing to remedy it. Sadly, I have reached a tipping point on this longstanding fire alarm issue. I have been at Domain for 2+ years now and experienced a period of relatively frequent fire alarms followed by (from my perspective) relatively none. In the past few months however, the frequency of the alarms going off (and for seemingly no reason) has gone WAY up and it's no longer something I can pass off as an infrequent irritation and concern. Just don't bother. The leasing team will make it seem like you'll be accepted right away and will try to make the process easy for you but honestly they will just take your money and won't be willing to help you with anything.

I normally do not feel compelled to write bad reviews, but I feel that for future residents, it is important that you take note of the reviews of this place before you consider moving here. 1. The complex is absolutely filthy because residents let their dogs use the bathroom all over the place, and there has been issues with them not even cleaning up after their pets. Some residents also leave trash all over the place. 2. There are 4 elevators in the building, but in the time I've lived here they've never all been working at... read more

I am a resident here and a fairly new resident at that.. the service here is excellent it is a quiet environment and management are friendly and easy going. Thalia provided me a tour of the apartments and I was immediately sold due to their impress deals during these unprecedented times. Aaron called just to ask how they could improve services provided if at all and that truly made me feel at home because they are constantly looking to better the already great environment

Had a great time at Domain, when I put in service requests they were answered quickly and fixed promptly. The amenities were great and an awesome addition to my stay. The location of the property is amazing, right in the heart of downtown Oakland and next to a bunch of restaurants and super close to the BART station.

Over the past several years I've had more and more issues with the property. Specifically, the plumbing. Since 2017 my tub faucet intermittently spits out a bunch of greasy black flakes. Building management has tried to fix it several times by replacing the same "mixing valve" which never seems to help. Its been so bad that they had to resurface our bathtub, because the black stuff ruined our old one. I have lived at The Domain for a little over two years now, and am fortunate enough to be in a spacious, top-floor, 1-bedroom 1.5 bath loft with an outdoor balcony in building B (insulated from street noise on either side), which has air-conditioning and heat, and my office is a 3-block walk from the building - so that makes things very convenient. My girlfriend and I recently moved out of domain and we had a great experience living there and with staff. In the beginning when Greystar took over it wasn't the greatest but the office people There now are friendly and easy to work with. We have no complaints and only had to move because of job relocation. It's funny to see people bash them for packages and things they can't really control.
