Downloaded Software is horrible I have had to uninstall and re-install the software (download) 5 times and the program still won't open on my PC Win10 OS. It's hit and miss, sometimes the "button manager" opens but the DS Capture program has yet to open. I finally had to call Brothers support but what a pain. If you don't have a CD ROM drive for the program install, I'd suggest thinking twice before purchasing. I had better luck with the Epson portable scanners, much more plug and play.

A Wast of Money... I am very disappointed in this scanner. It worked fine the first time I used it. I wanted it mainly for scanning photographs. So, after I removed it and stored in the little bag, and connected it a week later. I get a message that no scanner is connected. I chatted with Brother support, and they told me to do all the things I had already tried. I even went to their site thinking an updated driver would solve the problem. I wish I didn't have to give it a star As soon as I installed the scanner and tried using it, it had problems. And it was a different error or message each time I hit the scan button. Sometimes I'd get it to scan, or it would say it was scanning and never fed the doc through, and other times saying the lamp needs to warm up...this model has no lamp. The quality of the scans are terrible. Was going to use it for travel scanning ... Wow what a horrid scanner. Can not scan more than one page. If you do not have a cd dvd burner you can not load on half the drivers. The quality of the scans are terrible. Was going to use it for travel scanning but will simply throw it away. Not worth the price, not worth $10. Boo Brother yet another crappy product.

Terrible scanner, better off in the garbage I purchased this item so that I could digitize all my existing paper documents. None of my paper docs were in "bad" shape i.e. tears, smudges, etc. however, this cheap "scanner" was not able to scan a document that had been folded several times horizontally. The folds were standard and the document was unremarkable other than this. First off, my workspace was clean and clutter-less, with no dips, drop offs, or obstructions. One Star Does NOT do well with photos. I would not repurchase. For documents, it’s ok.

Chromebook...NO Said it would work with a chromebook. Searched for several hours trying to figure out how to do it with no luck. There are instructions on the site but they skip a step as I cannot get to the screen the instructions start from. I don't know what OS to select to get to the screen they show in the first step. VERY frustrated
