Stopped working after a month I bought this at the end of October, and have used it on only four documents, and it no longer works. I've rebooted my computer and tried plugging it into both USB ports (which easily power other devices), and no go. Very frustrating waste of money and as I'm past my return window, am unclear what my resolution is. Recommend buying a different - good quality - scanner instead.

software is a pain to navigate.... ... software is a pain to navigate....its taken me 5 days to get everything working but can't log in keeps rejecting my password I reset five times now still can't log in..........don't buy it will give you a headache.

Not compatible with MacOS High Sierra This scanner is completely incompatible with MacOS High Sierra. There is a page on Brother's Web site that says a driver is coming in "late Oct." As of 27 October 2017, the scanner is still completely useless with my computer.
"Paper jam" for longer receipts Didn't work for longer receipts. It would stop scanning and display an error message "paper jam". However, the paper was not jammed. It would always stop at about the 18 inch mark. So shorter receipts and paper would work but nothing longer. It claims to be able to do 32 inches. I am running Windows 10, 64 bit. I updated to the latest drivers found on the Brother support website. I tried 2 different scanning programs they offered. Both resulted in the same error.
Worthless software Useless. Latest version of the driver is 2 years old. Wasted an hour trying to get it to work, and Brother tech support finally concluded that the machine (and the software) is junk.
Jams often and damages documents The paper jams about 70-80% of the time, always on the upper-right corner of the page. Important documents have been bent and torn due to this manufacturing malfunction. Invest in a better scanner and avoid the headache. I wish I had.

Deep yellow tones I was so excited to finally get a scanner that I hoped to use to scan lots of old photos. This scanner was easy to install and it certainly worked quickly. However, the photos as they appeared on screen had a deep yellow tone in comparison to the originals. There was an adjustment for brightness and contrast and neither one was helpful. I saved the photos I scanner to a folder on my external hard drive and took it down to copy a couple photos, hoping that it might be my screen. But it wasn't. They came out ... read more
