This was the worst animal hospital EVER!! I was held hostage in their office when my boyfriend had to go home and get the money to pay for the office visit for my cat. I was told I could not leave until the whole bill was paid in full. I will NEVER take or recommend this place to anyone.

this is a LONG OVERDUE review of this whack clinic!!! i have taken my pets here in the past because it is conveniently located near my house and its like one of the only vets in watsonville. OKAY FIRST OF ALL my sister used to be a vet tech here annnd lets just say the head dr isnt the nicest guy. she quit because of the heartlessness he exhibited. why go into animal care if u dont care about animals? which brings me to my story. the last time i ever set foot in that place again was a couple months ago. my cat who is the abs... read more

Made an appointment to have my dog fixed. They sent me two emails saying to drop off the dog at 7am for the surgery. I arrived at 7am, in the pouring rain, and was told via speaker at the door that she was not allowed to open the door until 8am. They didn't even let me in out of the rain. So, I wait till 8am and they finally open the door, but I am then told that the receptionist hasn't arrived yet. I wait another 10 minutes while this lady takes phone calls but will not help me. Brought in 2 rescued cats (feral) that have become somewhat domesticated to get spayed. One of them was really hard to get in the pet carrier. We got bit and scratched. For the most part, the front office was professional. 400 dollars each is a bit steep but we don't want more kittens. And it was really hard to catch them, so getting it done then made sense. I recently moved to CA and have been looking for a good vet for my two small dogs. I thought I would stick to a local vet so I tried East Lake Animal Clinic. When I first arrived I noticed several piles of dog feces in the parking lot and on the sidewalk up to the entrance. I am not accustomed to vets that don't keep things like that cleaned up. Very off-putting when the vet you've just met for the first time starts complaining about other staff and the owner. Then tells us how smart he is and how much training he has had. And then, after lots of chit chat, gives our dog a very cursory exam. Won't go back.

close to year ago, I had my dog evaluated for a possible ear infection; historically when my dog gets ear infections in his left ear, he throws up his meal and gets lame for 1-2 days; my dog did his usual again; I took him into east lake clinic and explained the history of symptoms to the vet on call; the work-up was over $1000 this time due to the vet thinking that this time my dog had GI problems, I told the vet this is usually how he is when he has an ear infection; very expensive xrays were taken and he vet and reception... read more

We took our dog in for a tumor removal surgery and paid up front and then recived a call saying it was 1,000 fodlors more how could that be .. I had heard bad things already about this clinic but didn't believe it until now ... And to top it of we I asked for the new estament they could find it and after a while they found it in the garbage ... and then it didn't add up to what they were saying charging me double for things ridiculous! I would nerve recommend it to anyone .. Some animal lovers they turned out to be

This veterinarian is utterly worthless. Brought my dog here for an infection and didn't even give my dog a prescription for antibiotics. Very expensive very bad. I will never trust any "veterinarian" again and if it wasn't for the corrupt government and the "prescription" mafia we would just buy medicines online and not even use your "services." BTW theres sites that sell medicines without prescription.
