Do not take your dog to this veterinarian for teeth cleaning. I was quoted over $2,000 for a Level 4 Cleaning including anesthesia care and several extractions for my small dog. I shopped around and ended up getting the same exact treatment protocol for less than half of this price at another reputable vet in Yucaipa. Do your research.
Business response:
Dentistry done by Dr. Henderson is always performed with full mouth X-rays to properly evaluate all the dental disease below the gum line, evaluating for bone loss, abscess, and other dental abnormalities. This is where more than 80% of the disease process occurs. After X-rays, the doctor determines the best course of treatment. Based on your dog's physical exam, a Grade 4 dental disease (being the worst ) was diagnosed by the doctor. Done properly, this can take 2+ hours to complete. Pre-medications, pre & post, general ane... read more
After several years of treating our dog, when it was time to put him down, this Vet said they didn't have time to perform the procedure. Unbelievable.

I did inform an employee outside that I was here at my time with my dog she pointed and said text to that number. Now if I were an employee, I would have listened and said what's the last name, I'll check you in, wait until I do, so I can unlock the door and let you in. So without my reading glasses, I texted to what I thought was the number -3 times. I'm sure if I was at the front desk, I'd be wondering who is parked right outside my all glass window for 45 minutes, golly it's gotta be 99 degrees at least. But I get it you'... read more
Business response:
Hi Victoria, it's an unfortunate situation that you waited an extended time, but because you did not text the correct # that was displayed on the signs out front, that cannot possibly be our fault. It is the owner's responsibility to let us know when you arrive. Other clients were receiving service because they communicated to us they were here. Our landlines are busy, this is why our signs indicate to please text us upon arrival. We always respond immediately when the text is received and our staff begins the check-in proce... read more
this is the third cat that was not treated properly , so they all passed .if they did not know what was wrong , they should have suggested a specialist . not just give pain pills for a cancer treatment . beware
I was referred to this hospital so called to make an appointment for my 4 month old puppy that has PRAA, and told the receptionist that took my appointment that I was needing a quote for the surgery for PRAA. She said the doc has to see her to which I was fine with. I drove 45 mins to the vet, I was brought in w my puppy, everyone was pleasant, and when doc walked into the room she thought I was there to have my puppy spayed. When I corrected her and told her what I was there for I was told the front desk messed up. I waste... read more

I'm sorry that you feel you wasted your time coming to our clinic and we were not able to offer surgery for Skyler. Dr. Troxel was, however, able to give you information to another Dr in Irvine that specializes in this surgery for this rare condition. I hope that Skyler was able to get the surgery she needed and is doing well
I had an urgent situation where my dog needed surgery right away. She had developed Pyometra. The veterinarians themselves seemed to have done a good job, although the follow up has been horrible and she's having a very tough slow recovery. It's been 10 days since her surgery and she's still not eating and shivers a lot. A few days ago I had to take her to the emergency room at 3 AM because she was panting and crying so much, which she never does because she's a Jack Russell and very tough, but they basically said she was ju... read more
I don't recommend this place. They quoted us a crazy bill for a teeth cleaning with possible extractions on a 5 year old Golden Retriever. We didn't do it as the bill was gunna be like $2,000. She wasn't in any pain either, her breath just smelled. Glad we didn't do it. Took her to her new vet today, she only has mild gingivitis, doesn't need ANY extractions, and the cleaning will only cost $300 total with sedation and everything. This place is a rip off IMHO. Prices are high on everything and the wait is long for scheduled ... read more

Jen, I would like to know more about your estimate that you received from our hospital. This does not seem appropriate. You can send a copy of your estimate to dvm@eastvalleypethospital.com for my review. Thank you, Leslie G., Hospital Manager
I do not recommend taking your animal here. The attending vets are inexperienced. I took in a feral cat and assumed it was not spayed, this was then "verified" by Dr. Troxel, I returned to have the cat spayed and was told that the cat was in fact already spayed. Perfect no fees for me! WRONG. I had to pay the entire fee $300 even though no surgery took place. Not even a reduced fee. "But we opened her up, so basically the procedure did happen" FOH
I was told I could walk-in & we were turned away. All we wanted was a hip x-Ray to compare it to previous x-Ray they took a few years ago. My dog is in pain & they didn't care. They should have told us to come early and wait rather than make it seem as if we could come in the afternoon. My husband could have taken him earlier had they told us to come earlier when I called trying to make an appointment. What's crazy is that no one but us were in the lobby so maybe they were busy in the back or they didn't want to be busy... read more
Business response:
There was definitely a lack of communication on our behalf when we talked with you on the phone. I can understand your perception that we did not care about your pet. Our lobby did not have anyone waiting, but we did have 4 of our 5 exam rooms full. The doctor was also preparing for surgery. You were correct that the staff was busy in the "back". Unfortunately, if the receptionist had been better at communicating with you, this could have been avoided. I'm glad that your furbaby was able to be examined and get the treatment ... read more
