Once you file a claim with this company you get horrible customer service. The claims process is long and they have the rudest people working the claims including Management. The accident I filed a claim for was not due to my fault but I filed with Elephant because the other insurance company was taking to long. Once my claim got assigned to a Claim Representative that’s when the horrible service began. They just sent me an email saying I owe them $** because I didn't renew. I pay 6 months in full. AVOID.
One of Elephant's customers backed into my car. Weeks and weeks of waiting for them to finish the claim so I could take it to be repaired, all while their adjuster ignored our phone calls and emails and I'm driving a scraped and dented car. We finally got a response and a check in the mail (my car is paid for). The check was about 1/3 of what it will cost to repair my car according to the body shop. Dealing with Elephant is a one way street- no one seems to know or have the authority to use common sense. It has been a exercise in pure frustration for over 3 months. I would have been better off it I had been hit by an uninsured or hit and run driver than the other driver being insured by Elephant. These people should be out of business! I recently purchased them, and left them in less then a month. I filed a claim because I was a victim of a hit and run, and they refused to do their job. They wanted me to start calling everyone around, and taking care of it for them. All the calls are recorded so I made sure that they heard me when I said that I was leaving them because the claim adjusters, and supervisors do not know how to do their job. My car was hit from back by a driver insured by Elephant insurance. Elephant insurance denied the claim based on lies of their insurer without calling me, witness or police. I even sent dash cam video which clearly proves the other party's fault. Waiting for ever to get a alive person in the claim department. Maybe their rate is cheaper and the service is horrible.
I called to cancel my insurance as I was going with a different insurance company. The customer service representative I spoke with at Elephant assured me that after the current month, it would be cancelled. But they kept charging me and after I called them about it, they said there was nothing they could do about it and they reported it on my credit reports. Very poor business practices. If I treated my customers like they do, I would be out of business.
I am absolutely appalled by the way my claim has been and still is being handled. As a single mother of 3 children I have to make it to work to pay the bills. I totaled my (they made me remove my vehicle type here) almost 6 weeks ago. I was forced to rent cars to get back and forth to work. Been with this insurance company for over a year. Most of the time I had a good experience until I cancelled my policy for cheaper insurance. When I was cancelling my policy I was harassed on the phone to not cancel. I let them talk me into getting a new quote but it was still more expensive than what I wanted to pay. So I cancelled.
