Erie Home Avoid, Avoid, Avoid! The salesmen are very good at telling a good story and selling you what they want. Before signing the contract, we were told that things that were discussed as priorities for us where automatically a part of the job process and would be done. When questioned during the work, we were told by the site supervisor they never do that and wouldnt since it wasnt specifically written in the contract. They've got some jerk going door to door in Dexter ****** ******** **** selling new roofs for Erie Homes. I politely told him I wasn't interested, but he wouldn't stop. I asked him to leave, but he refused and became aggressive and called me some names.
We really love our roof. It's beautiful and goes well with the color of our home. Our salesman was very awesome! The workers were nice and respectful. However..the cleanup after the job was done was not good. We have a young dog and we found metal, lots of roofing nails and old roofing everywhere. We found them because our puppy brought them in the house. This upset us very much but we didn't call the company because we didn't think it would do any good. Contracting with Erie Construction Mid-West, Llc to replace my roof was a major error. The roofing crew said that they had completed the installation and collected the final payment. A few days later I noticed some roofing tile not secured adequately. I proceeded to do a closer inspection and found the following defects. 1 Roofing ***** are not secured properly.2 Gaps between a chimney and the roofing tiles where rain can enter. 3 Roof sealant red on some open gaps --- the sealant had only a 2 year to a 5 year expected lifet... read more
The folks at **** were very friendly and they replaced our roof in one long day (11/15/2023), which was both efficient and impressive. However, there were some issues that give us pause in recommending ****. The salesperson correctly identified quite a bit of mold on the plywood panels of our attic ceiling and said we therefore need to improve the attic ventilation. They showed up and started work immediately after setting up. They did a good job with the installation and clean up afterwards. The one complaint I have is that the ridge vent that was displayed to me at the presentation (which is more costly) was not what was installed. The installers put on the cheaper standard ridge vent that other contractors use. Did not do what they said was very dissatisfied The process was delayed then they did a quick 1 day fix
The only reason I am giving two stars, instead of less, is because the workers were friendly and did a good job. As for everything else. The still haven't given me a copy of the warranty that they were supposed to give once the work was completed. They harassed me about leaving a review here up until I kept reminding them about the warranty, then nothing. Waaaay overpriced. Would you pay $750 for the same tire you can get installed for $250 at any other reputable dealer? Find out for yourself, please get at least one comparable bid from a reputable contractor. I own a roofing company in the DFW Area, the sales manager told me that the problem with people like me is that I think I know how much a roof should cost.
