Dirty place with roaches everywhere

This ESA was in a convenient location for our trip and the price was good. However, the facility was in poor to bad condition, the staff was ok at best, and the whole trip was dicey...making us wish we had paid a few extra bucks to stay elsewhere. When we arrived in our room, there was a smoke alarm hanging from the ceiling and beeping, and a roach on the ground. Terrible This was one of the dirtiest hotels I've ever stayed in. As soon as we walked in, there was a cockroach crawling across the counter. They must be accustomed to people coming into the rooms because it didn't even scatter away. Then I went to the closet to hang up our clothes, and there was a pair of obviously dirty and sweaty socks on the floor. Worst stay ever First, things started out okay as I needed to check in early and they accommodated me however that was the only good part. Once I checked in the room I was assigned it smelled like cigarettes although it was allegedly non smoking. I asked to switch rooms, and the new room also smelled like cigarettes but it wasn’t as bad so I stayed in the room since I needed to get ready for the day.
