Good quality stay for the price The location of the hotel is great, especially if you're flying through John Wayne airport, which is one block away. Everything in Newport beach is just a short drive down MacArthur. The hotel is well worn, but not in disrepair. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious. The king beds are enormous. Everything great except the hallways could have more lights

Would not stay again On a positive note, the front desk staff was extremely nice. We really appreciated the cold bottled water when we checked in! The beds were comfortable but i would not stay here again. The rooms were not super clean - the fridge handle felt grimy & mirrors were spotted. The hallways were filthy - food remnants & garbage & smelled bad. Everything is very dated & dark. Had to change rooms as the first room had a broken toilet. Thin walls - easy to hear our neighbors normal conversations.
