Not accessible for person in wheelchair Prior to reservation we asked if room had a roll in shower & the response was that it did. Upon arrival we checked the room & found it had a tub. The person at the desk said "sorry". Not helpful / we spent the next 3 hours looking for an accessible room with accommodations for a person in a wheelchair! Very disappointing.

The facility is not well kept but in a nice, safe, quiet location. The rooms were not serviced - we had to ask for everything from toilet paper to towels to blankets. The desk clerk was always very kind and handled the requests promptly.

Horrible service Customer service is so important to me and usually when I stay at an Extended Stay, I always get excellent service so I was shocked that I received horrible service on Saturday at the location in Pleasanton. We arrived to check in and no one was at the front desk. We waited patiently for about 5 minutes and then I because frustrated and yelled, "hello, hello" several times. No one came. Terrible Hotel Stay There were multiple things wrong with this room and I would never stay there again. The kitchenette did not include any dishware, utensils, pans, etc. I was able to finally find a single plastic cup in the bathroom. There was a parking lot site light at the same elevation as the bedroom window, and despite the curtains being closed, the light still illuminated the bedroom at night. Honteux! Please, may I have a cup? We will NEVER stay at this property again. The rooms had no coffee makers and no cups of any kind -- none. No cups to get a drink of water in the night, or to take medications or even to rinse ones mouth when brushing teeth -- gotta go ask for one at the front desk. The air conditioner barely worked and through the course of the hot weekend (record temperatures set) the room got up to 80 degrees. That didn't seem to concern the staff one bit. Rude service, no pillows! The hotel ran out of pillows and comforters, so all we had to put on the pull out bed was a sheet. The woman who checked us in was very rude.

Bates Hotel Way too expensive for what you get. No dishes in room as advertised. Cheezy breakfast! (I don't consider a 2oz. muffin, granola bar, and make your own oatmeal in a coffee cup breakfast). NO ICE MACHINE ON THE PREMISES!!!! There was 1 empty plastic tray in the freezer. No toiletries. Had to beg for more bath soap when we ran out. Overall, the worst hotel experience we have ever had. Definitely will not return. We will rethink using Hotels.com in the future.
