Very expensive for what it is

Can you say nickel and dime? We would never stay at this hotel again. If we wanted just a cheap place to stay at night we never would have paid what we did to stay at this hotel. The breakfast on the go was a joke. It consisted of a few pieces of fruit, pre-packaged muffins, instant oatmeal packs and coffee (and no decaf available). There was an extra charge for housekeeping and towels seemed to be a prized commodity. The kitchen was not supplied with basic needs. Experience at Scarborough Maine Extended Stay Only use this establishment if you want the barest of essentials. Anything extra requires asking for it at the front desk, i.e. paper towels, silverware, dishes, etc.. This is advertised as having an efficiency set up. It does have a stove, microwave and refrigerator, but that is it. Even the TV is still analog. All of the drains (shower etc.) backed up. There are no grab handles in the shower and the floor in the shower with the water build up and soap made it treacherous. The ... read more

Not what I expected This was not a great experience. Room wasn't ready when we got there, they had to move people around due to a death. Our room wasn't great when we did get in. We asked for towels several times and they "ran out" of them. We also never got our room cleaned since it was under a week.

This was not what I expected When we arrived after a long day of travel at 8pm, our room was not ready. We went to dinner and came back two hours later. We checked in, and our room smelled like smoke. It was awful. I asked for something to help it, and we were given a strong solution. It helped a little. We never unpacked our bags because we didn't want to smell like smoke. The room was very small and not updated. We liked the flooring. Ok but we will stay somewhere else OK stay but neighbors were a bit loud and every once and a while a dog would bark. Rooms were clean not the same as staying at a regular hotel because you don't have room service everyday and the continental breakfast was more like coffee and donuts, not comparable to other hotels in the area. We will be staying somewhere else next time.

Nice hotel but not very clean When my family and I arrived we has to wait 20 minutes to check in. They had one person working the front and another person standing around. When we got to our room we noticed a smell coming from the kitchenette sink drain and found smears on the windows and room mirror as well as sand on the carpet. We were moved to another room but that wasn't any better, floor was not vacuumed and there was nail polish on the wall in the bathroom and on the TV guide. The Smell!! The room/hotel was supposed to be smoke free. Our room smelled like smoke or something nasty. We had to get up extremely early for our flight the next morning, so I wanted to get to bed early. I had a hard time sleeping with the smell. Could not wait to get our of there! Also the air/ventilation system did not work. It was cooler outside!

Never again Everything was cheap and worn out. Kitchenette in the room was empty of dish or cookware. not even coffee. Room smelled of cigarette smoke.
