Was not able to stay here due to a miscommunication between Expedia and the hotel. The hotel did not have my reservation booked, and after waiting on hold with expedia for over 2 hours, i gave up.

Switched rooms 2x booth rooms smelled really bad, ended up leaving and driving home instead.

I initially booked this hotel because it included breakfast since I had a conference early in the morning in Carlsbad. So when I got to the hotel I was told that breakfast is no longer included but I was charged for it. That is not right. You should not charge someone for breakfast and not include it. I did not argue with the front staff but just accepted the fact that breakfast was not included and just forced myself to get up early in the morning to drive and get something to eat. The whole hotel needed updating, my room smelled like cigarettes and mold , there was animal hair everywhere, and I got bit by a fleas , the furniture Had cigarettes whole in them and cat scratches , the bathroom and brunt makers as well , weird people coming in out of the hotel room , didn’t feel safe at night
