I had to wait considerable time just to get my room. Even after it was ready, it had water damage and a leaky fridge. Staff seemed entirely too busy or just short-staffed. Amenities weren't well explained upon arrival. At least it was close to some of Herndon's interesting dining spots.

Considering location, I was surprised at the high cost of the room. Outside was clean and neat, though lobby was very small for a large hotel. Front desk lady was very sweet... but she was the high point of the stay. Because I got a “discount through Expedia” they put me in the worst possible room...top floor, the farthest you could possibly get from the lobby, on road overlooking parking lot. Had to request kitchen items, which is fine. Just don’t like the feeling I’m putting the staff out in doing so. Only 3 towels in room for 2 people for 2 nights. Again a request for more, again feeling like I’m putting them out. Room had some kind of mites. Got bitten, A LOT.

The room had a foul smell, I have been to ESA Hotels before but none was like this. It seemed understaffed and in desperate need of upgrade.

No room service unless you pay for it separately. Breakfast would boil down to oatmeal bars and coffee from a pot. Sheets, blankets, covers, etc. would not be changed unless you allowed them to charge you for it (meaning it's not included in the price). Incidental costs...don't get me started on it. I have yet to be reimbursed, not a single word from the hotel.

Cheap and don’t recommend staying here. Price worked out well and if you don’t stay in the room much it might be perfect but didn’t trust the area or the hotel.

Its an older hotel - but the main issue is the clientele it attracts and the location is not very safe. I was nervous for my safety the entire time I was there. Would not recommend for that reason alone.
