Jacksonville, Florida - PLEASE do not even think about this company!! THEY LIE AND MAKE FRAUDULENT REPRESENTATIONS ONLINE!! Take a look and you will see. I wish I had read reviews before I chose this company - merely because they were right up the road. Don't do it. Don't put your stuff here. They will welcome you in and raise your rent 38% after the first year. Then you are on the hook for moving all your stuff which you had hoped to leave in one place for years. Total bait and switch. Go somewhere else.

Rented a space online a couple of weeks before our move. We went to check it out and found it to be too small and pillars in awkward places cutting into space. We decided to upgrade. We first called and were told that we could upgrade and receive it at the online price, just come in and they'll fix it. I used google reviews instead of Yelp and should have checked here. I store stuff before moving and had to find a place fast. It works, my stuff was fine but here is what you need to know: 1.) Prices in are insane- seriously, if you have more time, you'll find nice units fore less. 2.) People live in here. I was unpacking and a woman was living next door, getting ready leaving for the day. UPDATE: I moved out on 7/29/21 exactly 2 months after I signed my contract. I was there ONE day past my billing date & this location is NOT going to refund me my money. I paid $244.20 for ONE DAY! They rented my space to someone else AND they are keeping my money for all AUGUST. So they're getting 2 months rent for one storage unit. Pretty SLEAZY TRICK Extra Space Storage in Berkeley! DO NOT store your stuff here! Not one encounter with the on site or call center staff was professional or positive. The staff is dishonest, rude and disrespectful and they don't know their own policies. They absolutely price gouge. Our 4x8 storage unit started at $57 a few years ago and is now $162. They don't call back or answer the phone on site. As far as the service goes, I've had no problem. I just have some extra crap stored down here, nothing particularly valuable. But their rate gouging is ridiculous. If you need a place for a few months, fine, but for anything longer, they'll screw you with insanely high increases (i.e. 11-15% per year!!!) New increases every 9 months or so. Would I choose them again. No no NO!

My storage unit was burglarized, none of the employees showed any compassion or concern. I'm positive it was an inside job. They claim to do lock checks daily but left my storage open for five days. The day I was robbed is the day they contacted me. Since then no managers will return my calls they won't even speak with me honestly when I pop up. No one wants to investigate it. I rented here because I needed it last minute. Sounds like most of us rented here for that reason. It's WAY OVER PRICED to begin with.... Moved in anyway... Needed it and it was in the middle of rioting and a pandemic. The door has never closed all of the way and debris and dirt... rocks and more have come in and constantly covered my items with dirt.
