Landmark has the absolute worst roster of subcontractors. They take forever to get a hold of, forever to evaluate the problem, and forever to actually make the repair. Meanwhile, Landmark is constantly calling and emailing you (and by you I mean the first person you put on the account -- if you put your spouse on the account so they can make claims, Landmark AND the subcon will only contact you no matter how often you try to make clear that your spouse is handling the issue) to find out if the subcon has returned your call a... read more
Dealing with customer support has been difficult. We used it a lot when we first bought the house, but we had to jump through a lot of hoops to get stuff covered. It is very misleading when it comes to that. I don't think it's just Landmark, I think it's all the home warranty companies.
I talked to a really nice lady, who was very responsive, however, it was going to take them about 4 days to get a plumber over. In the meantime, I called a friend of mine, who fixed the plumbing problem for free. I have nothing against Landmark, but the company they wanted to use was 4 days behind.
We have used it for the refrigerator and plumbing, and they've been very helpful. A part of customer service was terrible, not all of it though.
They took way too long to process my problem
Had AC go out in July. 92 degrees in the house. Substandard AC guy came out for 3 minutes and said I need a whole new system. Warranty wouldn't cover inside since it wasn't damaged. Called a different contractor on my dime, replaced a blown capacitor in 5 minutes, charged me 10$. Landmark refused to refund my 60$ service call, even though I saved them hundreds. 6
I thought they were friendly until I got to the point when it was time for them to replace my messed up appliances. They weren't that helpful 'cause even though the say the want to make my day remarkable, their desire to do so decreased drastically when they found out that they had to fix or do something to solve my problem. I've had this warranty for a short time but I used it for my hot water heater. It wasn't working, so they got someone out to the house very quickly. They were there for just 10 minutes and I thought that was fixed. It worked for a short time, but then the water heater quit working again. The original problem, the pilot light, was not fixed and wasn't working correctly. As for Landmark's customer support, they have answered my calls, but sometimes they just don't follow up.
