I had a very disappointing experience at this location. I came in with a severe headache that had lasted several days and was feeling light-headed at times. After being taken back, my temperature and blood pressure were checked and I was told they wanted to do flu and COVID tests. The nurse performed both swabs in the same nostril at the same time, and they were done very quickly and did not seem thorough. Made an 830 am appt for an office that opens at 8. Got here at 820 and the doors were locked. Another customer said he had called and they said 20 minutes bc people were running late. Went over to the door again and the open light was on but the door was still locked. I called and someone at the front desk answered and said they couldn't open until everyone else got here and she didn't know what time. This is absolutely unacceptable. We are sick and need care! Horrible experience. Waited for 45 mins in the patient room to be seen for 5 mins by the doctor to give antibiotics without testing for anything. Absolutely ridiculous as antibiotics will not work unless it is bacterial (which they have no way of knowing without testing for anything) and is the reason why antibacterial resistance is such a problem. To call themselves "doctors" is embarrassing to all other healthcare providers.
Don't understand how there could be any good reviews of FastMed. Not because of the care I received. Once I was able to see the ONLY healthcare professional working the day I was there, it was fine. Pretty straightforward as I just needed an antibiotic for a UTI. Of course, the SIX HOUR wait was ridiculous, but what are you going to do? The REAL MESS is the billing system. Where on Earth do I start? How about the fact that they opened half an hour later than my schedule? Yeah let's start with that, I had an urgent appointment I needed at the time I scheduled and had to wait half an hour over, something I couldn't afford to do on a busy day, but my bad for assuming urgent care was URGENT. I am very disappointed with the experience I had this past Tuesday, August 5th with the Boone Urgent Care. I woke up that morning with major chest congestion, to the point where I was having trouble breathing and having chest pain. As we all know, an ER visit is not cheap and often times you're left waiting for hours just to make it into an exam room. Why set an appointment if they aren't going to honor it? The check-in system is jacked up and didn't connect to my chart, and I had to repeat the steps I completed online in the office. This system is way more complex than if the front attendant just did their job. Complete waste of effort, and I'm sick. This is just a poorly managed operation. Terrible bedside manner. I do not recommend seeing Bethany. Extremely unhelpful and such an invalidating provider that did not complete a comprehensive evaluation, as clinically indicated.
The appointment and check in process was fine. Office was clean and we were able to get back pretty much on time. Both people that attended to us were friendly enough but the person that checked my daughter for an ear issues totally whiffed. She looked at both ears and declared they were clear of wax, with one having some fluid in her middle ear. Her ear drums looked "fine". We took that as accurate.
