I love the idea of this watch but find myself often frustrated with the lack of location updating. Despite everything being updated—watch and app on my phone, my kiddo’s location has been “stuck” in the same location for two weeks. I’ve done all the troubleshooting to no avail….but I’m still paying for a service I can’t fully use. Text and calling features have mostly been consistent.
My child checking off their chore list activates my phone to say the activity needs to be confirmed but when I do so, the watch never updates to show the chore activity was confirmed. It remains “yellow” as a tentative selection. Otherwise, a serviceable watch and app.
The most recent update took what little was working and completely threw it in the trash. 90% of the time, it has no idea where the devices are. My users are not able to update their tasks to get in app coins and it does not track their steps. If I had known this would be our experience, I never would have purchased these devices.
App is no longer giving my son's location. Every time I login it says “can't locate your device”. If this keeps going on like this, I will have to deactivate my service and find a different one. I purchased this so that I can locate my son, who has Autism. Update: 5/23/25: I called customer service today, and the lady who helped me fix the issue. Changing my 1 star to 4
Ever since this last major update, the app doesn’t work most of the time. I can’t get the devices location which is 99% of what I use the app for. Update: uninstalling and reinstalling the app fixed the issue of not being able to see locations. But I’m still having to log into the app way too often which is a nuisance. Why can’t it keep me logged in all the time?
My sons watch had not updated for 23 hours and says it’s at 3% but the watch is fully charged. I have tried to turn watch off and turn back on, I’ve logged out of the app I’ve used the refresh on the app and nothing is refreshing. Not sure if the update I got an email about today went through but if it did it didn’t work and made the app useless as of right now.
After this recent update to the app I will get a notification saying my child has left the home zone but as soon as I open the app it says “we weren’t able to find your devices.” I’ve also had a few instances where it showed my daughter was 5 miles out of her zone when in fact she was in the house with me. Not very reliable, which is the whole point of the GPS aspect.
I’m not sure why they needed to create a whole new app when the old one was working just fine. Don’t get me wrong, when it works it works, but it has far more “bad days” than good. It has trouble loading the map, updating locations/battery life, and when there are TWO notifications the red bubble tells me there are 56. It’s a good start, but definitely needs work. We’ll continue to use it because we love the watches, and it’s affordable, but I really hope that all the kinks get resolved sooner rather than later.
UPDATE 05/13/25 Things are finally working again after considerable troubleshooting with Gabb’s customer service. I increased my rating from 1 to 3 stars only because customer service was really good at communicating. I still have serious doubts about the tech and cell service this company provides. I’m still not comfortable relying on this part of the service to work.
