UPDATE: I got a call after my appointment saying that I paid the wrong amount and I still owed an additional $200..... That makes zero sense. They asked who did my hair cut and color, I told them and I paid. They wanted me to come back inside and pay the remaining balance. Not only did I walk out with color on my face but since they screwed up the total, I have to come back and pay more? I asked to speak to a manager and no one called me back.... I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

I got one of the worst haircuts of my life yesterday . That saying something since I'm 68 I told the stylist(I use the term loosely) that I wanted it cleaned up at the bottom leaving a weight line since my hai had unusual growth patterns sine it has gotten grey so if it gets too short it will be difficult to maintain my style. There must be something in the water of this shopping center that makes employees treat customers so poorly that they leave in tears. Like lots of 20 year old girls, my hair is important to me (insert eye-roll here, I know) I've had some pretty bad stylists over the years, so I'm not afraid to spend a chunk of change to make sure it looks how I want it to, and I earn all my own money so I have every right to do so. This salon is an obvious downgrade from their previous location, which was much larger. The locker rooms are now very small with only one changing area and one shower. It's incredibly awkward to use now. The old location had a nice steam room with plenty of changing areas and multiple showers. It was much roomier and you didnt feel awkward if there were other people in there. The waiting area is tiny. I keep hoping it will get better but it doesn't. I only go to Gene Juarez because of the stylists. The receptionists don't smile and frankly are rude. I asked a question about the new self check-in and it was as if I was bothering her. The front desk staff should be trained by Nordstrom staff regarding appropriate and kind customer service.
Zero star if I could! This is my first time ever writing a review. I feel I have to share the outrageous treatment I experienced at Gene Juarez. In brief, I paid 900 bucks to get hair extension at this place and the sticky glue between the extension tapes fell out and entangled my hair like snowballs. Whatever you do DON'T get a cut from ANTONIO! I asked for a blunt cut above my shoulders and it was terrible. There were all these hairs he forgot to cut. He styled is with "beach waves" which looked terrible. I have short hair and he used a huge barrel curling iron. It looked so terrible. Not to mention he's super cocky and acts too cool. The whole experience was awful. I called to have the cut fixed but didn't want him to fix it because he made me feel so uncomfortable. Edit after response from Gene Juarez: Offering a small discount on next purchase, after being asked repeatedly for discount from the customer, doesn't mean much. Industry standard is to discount ON poor service. Not asking the customer to purchase another..."Hey, we are so sorry our product sucks. But buy it again and we'll give you a discount on the next one."

This review is solely for the front desk/nail salon.*** We had arranged an appointment for manis and pedis for a party of 3 for a birthday celebration. When we arrived at the salon all together, we gave the primary name on the reservation and told them that we were a party of 3.
