I love this place. I live in puyallup, and there is a gene juarez salon located in south hill mall puyallup, but i would drive all the way to southcenter just to get my color or haircut. I always get my color here at southcenter with Jess. She is the BEST! She understand so well of my hair, and she is really easy to work with. I will always get my color done by her. I wont trust anyone else (been to gene juarez with so many different colorists).

I'm very disappointed in this new location. The prices have continually increased but the amenities have dried up. The owners are obviously hyper-focused on making money at the expense of making the customer feel important. I like the stylists and staff but the pampering is a zero.

I think the stylist need to just do wat the client wants and not wat they think would be best for them. This is how u end up with upset customers! we were completely ignored and unhappy

My daughter and I used to love coming here, however, the last 2 times my daughter had an appointment, it was canceled. The first was hours before prom and the other was for her birthday. I understand that stylist call out, but it's super disappointing when it's booked far in advanced for a special occasion only to be cancelled a couple hours before. I will be looking for either a different location or a different salon altogether.

I have been a happy client at various Gene Juarez since high school - 25 years? I recently saw the same gal who I love for an all over color. The results were different than the previous 10x I've seen her and suspect the dye was switched as it was light on the crown and very dark on the bottom (basically opposite of what has been done in the past), I also had a new gal doe cut and even though I said no layers she layered my thin hair, what is the obsession with layers? sent my daughter to Gene Juraez -Southcenter for her back to school hairdo. the ease of booking and customer service was grade A. what soured my experience is they didn't explain the service they were providing in it's entirety. after requesting balayage blonde hair color and conditioning for $230. They tacked on another $130 for blowout and cut. a service i didn't request, but i could live with it if that's what my daughter needed. What made me frown was the $75 tip that was added on. Greg O. absolutely botched and ruined my hair. He did not take the time to look at my appointment booking and did not give me the services I had scheduled. He decided to give me layers, which I had not asked for, and they are all 2.5 inches apart. My hair is completely ruined and I am humiliated to have to have my hair this way for the two weddings I'm going to this month. Please do not ever let Greg cut your hair!

First time visiting this salon; waited almost 15 minutes past my appointment time for my wax appt at the spa. When I told the tech I thought they had forgotten me - she simply said 'sorry.' I should have turned around and left. She did an OK job on my waxing, but I shouldn't be plucking ANYTHING on my brows the day after a wax appt. I understand if they're too short the wax can't grab them - but that's what tweezers are for! Spend a little quality time doing what you're suppose to; that's your job. Well... the good news is I scheduled a color consult with Mika at the Redmond salon and now I know I don't want her coloring my hair. Why would I hire someone that's disinterested to create the look that I will wear every day for months? She was not friendly and seemed irritated. Told her what I'd done in the past. She had very little to say, just "Balayage" and "we will get into it on the day". After that I didn't even bother to bring out the pics I brought with me.
