I called this Gene Juarez location today to attempt to schedule a service with a vaccinated stylist, as we are a vulnerable population home, and I was told that customers cannot be assured of the vaccination status of their providers. I have been a longtime customer of Gene Juarez, but that changed today. If a company does not provide their customers with an option for safety during a time like this, they are not a company I want to support with my business.

I called to get a cut and color appointment. I made sure the receptionist knew we would need extra time for thick and long hair. The day of the appointment I get a text cancelling because they didn't allot enough time. Not even a phone call! So...now I'm going to a very special event with color grow-out and overgrown hair. This company cares about money and not customers.

I had an AWFUL experience here. I asked for a balayage and got streaks of bleach put in my hair. The coloring was uneven, and the artist put more color on the left side of my hair than the right. She also missed a ton of spots underneath and it turned out orange. I will not be coming back, this was extremely unprofessional. When I emailed Gene Juarez about my concern they took WEEKS to respond & then told me they wouldn't give me a refund. What a waste of $250. DO NOT GO HERE.

I have been a customer of Gene Juarez for over 30 years and of this particular branch for over 20. I had always used them because, although expensive, I could usually trust they would do a good job which saved me the hassle of trying to find a new stylist whenever the one I was seeing would leave. Whatever you do, do not book an appointment with Demi. I came in for simple highlights and she claimed my hair just couldn't take bleach. So I left the salon looking the exact same as I did when I came in there and I still had to pay $200, after spending 5 hours there. All of the staff was so rude to me and said it was my fault because I used box dye to dye my hair previously. Then I went to a different salon and after 2 hours and $80, I had the hair of my dreams.

I originally asked for balayage but then hair colorist recommended full foil because my hair is too dark and wont lighten up. Ive never done full foil. I thought its the same thing as balayage just a slight difference. The word "FULL" threw me off and thought it meant full color. Why would you even recommend something that is not even close to what the customer wants? I have been a patron of Gene Juarez for going on 10 years, the entire time I've had a service dog and never had any issues until about a month ago when I went into the store with the intent of purchasing product when I had the unfortunate luck of encountering their general manager who had quite frankly made it so I do not want to step into another Gene Juarez. Wanted to update on this place after a while - the staff have been friendly in the past, but not as much lately. They're not mean, just doing their job. The cut snd colour is decent but nothing amazing either. They ruined multiple shirts/hoodies of mine however with bleach even with their towels/drape-y things around your neck. I've had two 1000$+ hoodies ruined and a top as well. If you go, make sure to wear something you don't mind getting trashed.
