I believe in grace, so I did not post the first two times I had issues with Gentle Dental Irvine. Today was the third time in less than one year I have had issues with this office, and it is time to post this review. I was scheduled for dental work (a crown) at a 5pm appointment, and when I arrived, the door was locked. Just an update, this place charged me over $5,000 worth of stuff to be done and it was returned to my bank account. They made me submit everything back in a written letter, which was a hassle but it's how they do these things. It's been years, and I wanted to say that I don't trust this place at all and I haven't gone here since I submitted my first review. So a long story short, the cost of getting a refund from this place will exclude your appointments because the contract you sign is through all of the insurance companie... read more

The worst experience ever in my life for going there! The appointment means nothing to them. They changed the schedule without informing you and insisted no fault for them and refused to help. My 5-year-old kid was exposed to X-ray many times at one visit for unsuccessful image even without proper protection. And after that they were unable to find the X-ray picture for review just a few minutes after taking that. Fortunately they found them when I went back for the X-ray Billing! Stay away from this office. An appointment time means absolutely nothing to them. They will schedule you for an appointment weeks in advance and then give your appointment time to someone else. They will even confirm your appointment the day before and then call you the day of the actual appointment and insist that if you don't come in earlier, you will be facing extended wait times even though it's completely their fault. this place has been the worse dental place ever...they clearly dont know how to do their jobs or their supervisors or managers clearly did not do a good job at training them. First, they need to hire professional that can English clearly and not anyone from the street for answering phone and talking to clients at their front office. This office is a complete scam. This is not a dental office as much as a used car lot. Constant pressure to agree to expensive additional services and even if you refuse they still add them to your bill and file a collection against you. Went to an 8 am appointment for my routine teeth cleaning. I had dealt with them before so I was very explicit that the appointment was just for my routine cleaning. I have been going to Gentle Dental for many years and received great services from the previous staff and Dentists/hygienist. I have to say that since the new management took over, I have been experiencing bad services from admin. First off, the lady in charge of billings is not a friendly person at all! She does not try to be accommodating or helpful. Okay, it's been a while since I've been here...but my experience was harrowing. I basically had to get up out of my chair and leave during a procedure. These people are the classic "suggestive sell" dentists, who try to sell you things you don't need. Specifically, I was told I need "root planing" and "antibiotics" to make sure that I didn't get an infection after the root planing. Not only did they slice my mouth to ribbons, but they FORGOT to do the antibiotics...until I mentioned it. Stay away...far, far away.

This review is for the office staff only. The dentists and orthodontists that I've seen through the years have been wonderful and the care has been great. HOWEVER, the office staff have made numerous mistakes that have cost me a lot of money! The office manager is very rude, unprofessional, and not willing to help in any way. On top of that, she tries to intimidate you in front of others in order to get money. My family will no longer be coming to this office.
