An absolutely HORRIBLE electricity company. The true definition of bait and switch. I was completely misled by the agent stating that I’d be charged 11.4¢ per month so long as I don’t exceed 500 kWh, it was mentioned that I’d be charged at whatever kWh I used (as expected). They even included a $50 discount if you use 500 kWh (a steal right!? NO) — What they DIDN’T feel the common decency to include was the caveat of the 11.4¢ increasing as your usage increases. This was a complete bait and switch. My average electric bill was around $220/mo over the summer months in Texas which is high. I decided to look for another electric company with a lower rate and did my research. I found Gexa Energy online and was given a rate of 10.3 cents per kwh at 1000 kwh. Naturally, I switched. I received my first bill and it was almost $358 for ONE MONTH! This company doesn't deserve any stars to be available. They are ridiculously high! Either pay this bill or buy groceries or not even medicine. Nobody can pay 4or 5 hundred dollars a week. What are they thinking!! What kind of people own this company!? They should be ashamed of themselves. But I promise you karma is a *****! I'll never recommend this company ever!

Bait and switch. They tell you a low rate and charge a much higher rate. Everyone there barely speaks English. Avoid this company. They are the worst almost criminal.

Customer service absolutely sucks. I saw an outrageous amount of usage on my weekly energy with an over 100% increase during a time when I hadn’t even been home. When I asked about it, their answers dodged my concerns. At one point, they outright did not answer when I asked how I can have my energy usage double checked for mistakes. I will be switching as soon as this term is up and do not recommend this company for anything. Their low prices are not worth the poor customer service and lack of transparency from the company.

I'd rate 0 stars if I could. Our bill has always been around $180... it went up a bit due to extreme heat in Texas, we expected that. What we didn't expect was an almost $500 electric bill! To put the cherry on top, they've charged us for TRIPLE the amount of energy we've actually used. We were out of town and left the house on 77 and everything except the house cameras unplugged.. we were gone almost a month and they charged us for TRIPLE electricity when we weren't even home to use it! GEXA is horrible. Price gouging, bait n switch unethical company of thievery. They penalize customers for not paying the new portion of the current bill. Yep, you got to pay in full, then the next bill you get a late charge for not paying the new portion of the next bill. I wish we could gv zero stars. Gexa is trash... there needs to be a major lawsuit against them. I'm about to lose my deposit & find another company

DO NOT SIGN WITH THIS COMPANY! Their advertised rates Hans fine print Like you have to use exactly 1000kwh to get the advertised rates. If you use 999 or 1001 they rate doubles. When you call to change that they assure you your next bill will be at a better rate which is more than you signed up for but less than the doubled rate they charge for not hitting 1000kwh on the dot.
