Something isn’t right. I feel we are being scammed. Our power bill was the most it has ever been last month (and a lot more than our neighbors who keep their ac WAY lower than ours and have double the people in their family). It was 613.00. We have been out of town all week this week with our upstairs unit set on 80…I just got my weekly usage email showing that we used about the same amount of electricity the week we have been gone as we used the week before. How is that even possible??? I’m being scammed!

Deceptive practices. They advertise to be the lowest kw rate but when you sign up, they have hidden additional rates that increase the kw rate to .17 kw! They offer a smart thermostat for free but is charged to you on a monthly basis on your bill. I have never paid more for electricity as a homeowner. Do not use this business.

A terrible company that will lie to you. I closed my account to switch to a better company gexa assured me I could set up payment on my final bill. When I called to set up the payment they denied payment options and instead started spamming my phone with calls daily, even threatening emails to report me to the credit bureau. I had been paying $100 every week to clear the account yet they still spammed me with calls and emails with no response to my replies

Worst service I have ever received. Somehow they had no record of me canceling my service and charged me for electricity used at an address after I moved out. DO NOT USE Gexa!!! They will try every method to overcharge you and provide poor service at the same time. The rates shown online are never the rates they use for your bill, your billed rate is confidently always higher. STAY AWAY

I just terminated my 12 month contract with Gexa after learning of their fraudulent practice. I enrolled in the $50 rebate program if I maintained 500 kwh or more. However, they billed me for 9 days at .23/kwh when their website showed me at .14/kwh. Apparently they charge a higher rate if your usage is under 500, something no other company has ever done. Gexa energy sent me my fixed plan expiration notices only stared, after the expiration of my fixed plan on 02/01/2023, I will be on month to month variable price plan, which I may cancel at anytime with no fee and no mention of budget bill true up balance anywhere not in my monthly billing statements on my fixed plans except on line of budget bill variance, it never showed that variance was in thousands of dollars, so I found another power company with low rates, switched on 04/15/2023, now Gexa told me and charging me for b... read more

I live in a 3 bedroom DUPLEX. Just me and my 2 month old. I have never received a payment over $200. For the month November-December I received a $777, almost $800 bill for using my heat??? I had been in touch with a few gexa employees and finally spoke to one who told me how to go about getting a meter reading AND told me to go ahead and ONLY pay $200 until things were resolved. My girlfriend died. I tried to sign up for a new energy plan at the address. Instead, they’ve been trying to get me to pay her outstanding balance. I’ve offered to send the death certificate. The last conversation I had, they told me they’d send me an email with a letter in 48 hours. I just want energy.

Company is very speedy at filing late charges and turning you to collections even if your checking account/debit card has been hacked. I have been given only a collections response and it really is upsetting.
