FYI Do not get a Gexa plan where you receive a bill credit related to the usage amount during a billing period. They can and in my case have reduced the billing period to 29 days instead of the normal 30 or 31 days to deny me a $100 credit. I have documentation to show this. The phone representative stated that they can have billing periods from 28 to 35 days in length. He was unable to state that this flexibility would not be used against a customer. I can only speak to this one instance where they used this to against me. ... read more

Service has been great. Billing is terrible. I just had an hour long phone call with no resolution. According to them, when I renewed my contract a few months ago it didn't count as "budget billing", while the previous 3 years had counted, which I was under the impression that "budget billing" was on the account itself, not the contract. I got hit with a $1,665.69 monthly bill. I was given no other explanation other than "It's on the invoice". It is, but not the one I get sent by Gexa. I have to go to my account, find the mo... read more

I signed up for budget billing. At the end of the term, I had a balance. I arranged for the balance to be split and added to my monthly bill over the next few month. Sadly, I had to make this request twice over the phone and they never provided confirmation of what we discussed and they payment plan. Well, I was charged the full amount out of nowhere. Over $700 just pulled from my account. That completely messed me up. I had other bills that have to come out that I can not cover now because of their mess up.

Scam! I found out I was being charged for the past 3 months an optiminmizer. A device they kept asking to install inside of my house for the a/c. I never agreed to it, I never had it installed but was being charged for it!? I called numerous times to have my bill adjusted or credited back (which by the way if you need to speak with someone nobody their speaks clear english) but they won't help me! Even after acknowledgement of their mistakes? Still dealing with this issue I even received a disconnect notice?? Do not sign up ... read more

I’ve been trying to renew my contract for 3 months. Renewed it online, it said submitted. A month later my bill was still being charged a month to month rate. I called they said they would fix it and adjust the current bill to reflect the contract and they didn’t. I called again was on the phone for over an hour. I was hung up on and transferred multiple times. Finally they said they would have to go back through the call recordings to make sure that’s what was actually promised to me and they’d call me back within 48 hours.... read more

I was told 13.9kw and was charged 19.7kw. I disclosed my previous plan to the employee and he said this was my best plan. My average electric bill for 8 years has been 180$ a month. My first bill with gexa was 500$ for a month. They falsely advertise their prices by not saying and average. And a tdu charge that is very expensive. Customer service is terrible, I’ve been trying to resolve my bill but they are not helping. I already swapped companies. This is the worse electric provider I’ve ever used!
