If ZERO stars was an options, I would choose that as an option. DO NOT choose this company as your service provider. They have been a headache since day one. I did not sign a service agreement with them, just asked for information on their current energy plans. They started a service plan for me without my consent. I contacted them to cancel the plan well before I closed on the new house (I have the emails with dates to prove the communication occurred well in advance). I would recommend to no one. When I moved from one house (using Gexa) to another, less than 2 miles away, in the same city (where I also signed up with Gexa), I was notified of a $900+ “true-up charge” from the previous house (read their small print, I assume), after we had already moved (and signed with Gexa) to the new house. I was an existing customer exploring a renewal. The agent offered and signed me up for a plan based on the average price/kwh, which was competitive, but didn't explore what I was likely to pay based on my usage history. After I got the Fact Sheet on the plan I called back and discovered that based on my usage pattern my actual price/kwh was likely to be more than double the average price per kwh shown. Sad that I had to give them a star. Before this terrible identify theft experience, I had barely heard of Gexa. Now that I have, I can assure you I will never do business with them. I filed a police report and jumped through all of Gexa's hoops back in April to have this removed. Needless to say, this fraudulent charge was still allowed to hit my credit. I spent 5 years with Gexa and paid my bill on time every time. Recently I noticed they changed my rate from 8 cents to 19 cents per KWH and I wasn't mailed, emailed, called about it. When I called to fix it, they told me it will go back to 9 cents. Now my last 3 bills are at 13.8 cents. This is blatant lying and they should be ashamed. We are off to a company with morals and integrity.
I was trying to renew my plan on their website but it doesn't work and then trying to call customer service but they are not able to solve the issue. Instead of renewing my old account they just create a new account. The way to make more bills! That's all!!!
Gexa Energy is one of the worst electric company that's out there. RIPoFF @ 100%. My one month electric bill was high enough to cover the whole year. Run ppl run ..........................
Horrible horrible horrible. we went from using up to 1400 KW maximum ALWAYS to using 2500 KW one month and the next almost FOUR THOUSAND KW!!! I called for a meter check that took them about a month they told me they were waving all late fees and still sent me a disconnect notice. so I called again, and they said that I can wait until the meter is read. so finally 2 days ago they checked the meter and I never heard anything after that.
