Worst company ever! I have been with them for 2 years. Always paid on time. I’m moving to a new address and they tell me it’s a switch hold at the new address from the previous resident. Ok cool. So I submit all the paperwork that they tell me to proving that I’m moving to this address and they reject it!! I had my account for a total of maybe three weeks when one afternoon my power went out. I called their outage number, just for it to tell me to call another company. That company informed me it was indeed not an outage, but my account had been closed. When I told them I never closed it, they looked into it and said that because someone at another electric company apparently opened an account on my address, Gexa automatically closed my account. This company has been extremely unprofessional. We tried to set up service with them and when they were taking down our information they took everything down incorrectly. They didn't have our primary address right, our name, or any of our credit information. Because of this it has been difficult to get anything set up with the company and because of the incorrect credit information they are requiring us to have a $300 down deposit to activate services. Renew contract was easy, and got lower plan what I have now.
This company is a complete scam. They made the average billing option sound so appealing, but failed to mention that the variance every month is compounded and has to be paid either at the end of the contract or if any changes are made to the contract. We found this out when we were one year into our two year contract. THEY changed our account number, therefore making a change to our account with out consent and we were all of a sudden stuck with a $635 bill! I have been a Gexa Energy customer for over 10 years, but their customer services has recently taken a nose dive. On December 8, they sent me a notice that my account number was going to change as a result of their billing system being switched to a new platform. Then, on December 21, they sent me my monthly bill, with the old account number. I have been a Gexa customer for over 20 years and have always paid my statements on time. A new contract started in November 2020 and Gexa failed to send me a statement. 2 weeks after the statement due date they disconnected my power I received no notice that I was about to be disconnected and had to call to find out why and how much I was in arrears. Horrible customer service!! Disconnect my electric 4 days before my requested service transfer date!! Told me it was there mistake but nothing could be done!! I will not continue to be a customer!!
