Without Tom Gross and the band, it's just not the same on the patio anymore
Haven is a favorite of mine, but on Saturday (5/12), it was extremely loud. Unfortunately, our table of six was positioned up against the partial wall adjacent to the bar. There were several very intoxicated men at the bar - who literally screamed back and forth (with plenty of foul language) in their dialog for nearly two hours. Four people in our party were first timers at Haven and they said they'll never come back.
Open Table said I had a reservation on the patio except when I got there the patio was only first-come-first serve (it was Thursday night and there was a band on the patio). They did have a table for us in the dining room.
The scallops were good and so was the beef tenderloin.
Nice ambiance but food not up to par for the prices. Mussels had weird consistency, 51 dollar strip was like London broil, ordered prime rib rare came out medium well. After awhile can't complain about everything. Won't be back.
The food was excellent;however, we had a 6 o'clock reservation so the restaurant was not crowded at all but we were seated at a table for 2 in the center aisle. 20 minutes later, 4 people were seated at the table directly next to us and unfortunately, their conversations were so loud we could hardly hear each other talk. Went to Haven for brunch to celebrate our anniversary. Waited 15 minutes for our drinks before asking manager about our drinks. Finally got drinks 20 minutes after ordering (not exaggerating). After ordering, server came back 10 minutes later saying she lost her sheet with our order and could we give her our order again. Food was good. Patio was lovely. Service was worst ever.
Food was good but service was terrible. 20 min to get someone to come to our table and take our drink order. This was after I asked the hostess who are waiter was. 3 different bus staff kept trying to clear our table before we even received our entree. They were not busy at all. 50% full. Will not return.
Service was extremely slow between courses and our waiter never acknowledged this, i.e. he could at least stopped by and said "your entrees should be up soon", "sorry for the delay", etc. When we finally called him out on it our entrees suddenly appeared within minutes. the wait time for our desserts was ridiculous.
