Hard to set up Virtually unable to program. Ships w/a CD. CDs? Online instructions written by NASA engineer. Tech support? They charge for tech support. Finally connected. Took all day to make it work. Be prepared.
This machine keeps tripping of my power Power trips in room when printer initiates from sleep mode. Called customer support, I was on the call for more than 1 hour, could not help.
Worthless Dead 11 days after return window. Barely used this, now it won't even power on. I have tried the troubleshooting mentioned on the Brother site and others I found online. Nothing works! Dead just 11 days past the return window. Complete waste of money!! If I could give negative stars I would.
toner issues, This is the second brother printer I have bought. Constant errors, toner replacement and print quality were very disappointing. I have used brother printers many years ago and did not have these kind of issue. Save yourself time and money go with another brand.
Will not power on after 9 months of light use The printer just won't power on now. It stopped powering on one day out of the blue. I've researched different ways to fix it, and none of them work. The Brother technical support website is hard to navigate and has outdated information on "authorized Brother dealers" where I can get the printer replaced under warranty. As a side note, it was also a pain to connect to wifi. It prints quickly and well, when it works.
It was good when it worked. This is a great printer when it's working. However, in the few months that I've had it I have had to reinstall it half a dozen times. It disappears from my printer list. The duplex function changes on its own so that the back side prints upside down. No matter how many times I follow the instructions to the letter it will not work correctly. Right now if I print in duplex from a Word document it prints correctly. If I print from anything else I have to do a custom print and send one page at a time... read more
Wireless Connectivity Hell This printer touts wireless printing, but never stays connected to the network, and the process to reconnect is tedious and never consistent. I doubt I'll buy another brother printer ever again.
Doesn't print straight This printer is lightweight and I had no real trouble setting it up on the wifi. Unfortunately I had many issues with the actual printing. It did print on regular paper, cardstock, mixed media paper (90lb) and watercolor paper (140lb). The ink rubbed off of the watercolor paper (slightly textured and smooth) and rubbed off almost all the ink. Does not copy! Does NOT copy or scan. A printer in that price range certainly should at least make copies!
