Defective machine The product was defective and when I went to replace the toner cartridge it wouldn’t accept the cartridge. And it was too late to return. I should have known it was defective because we couldn’t connect to the internet
Wifi setup is difficult and disconnects when in deep sleep I've had numerous printers and this one is very difficult to keep connected to my wifi. The setup itself is also difficult unless you have a direct connection with your computer first. I DO NOT recommend this product.
Only prints This is only a printer. It did hook up wirelessly and printed nicely but that is flat out all it does. It did print from an iPhone
Totally unsatisfactory! This is the third Brother monotone laser printer that I have purchased. Unlike the other 2, one of which is wired only and the other offering wifi and work perfectly, this model is a dud. The setup is slow and complicated and impossible if using the supplied instructions. I had to watch several YouTube tutorials in order to link it to my computer. I have never been able to get it to print via wifi and had to purchase a printer to usb cable in order to use it with my MacBook. It is constantly in sleep ... read more
Stay away from this printer! This printer is terrible! Won’t print! So frustrating! Looking to replace it as it has only printed maybe ten pages in the year I have owned it. Afraid the next one will be as bad as this one! Don’t waste your time with this brother printer.
disconnected once, lost it forever This piece of absolute trash decided one morning it would just stop connecting to my mac. I tried literally every single troubleshooting guide on Brother's tacky web 1.0 website, and got nowhere. Complete waste of money. Will return. Brother should fire their product developer who created this piece of trash.
Don't waste your time The frustrations with trying to get this printer to connect to WiFi are well documented in these comments, as are the problems with Deep Sleep, so I won't rehash them. I had all of those problems and more. A few days past the Amazon return period the printer stopped powering on. I went through all of the troubleshooting on the Brother website, and then again on the phone with their customer service. They are sending a new unit. NOT wireless, NOT even usable You remember those shiny round flat things called CDs that used to go inside computers? Well that's how they expect you to set up this printer, haha! Downloading the driver from their website is useless. I tried it with 2 different computers, repeatedly, didn't work. What a complete waste of time and money. THE WORST PRINTER I'VE EVER OWNED I could talk for hours about how bad this printer is. it doesn't hook up to wifi without a 3 day marathon. it jams even with good paper. it doesn't print envelopes easily. the diagram on the machine that tells you to print the envelope a certain way is wrong. if you do that, the address will be on upside down. one of the worst purchases I've ever made. going back to HP asap.
