The worst, most complicated WiFi set up imaginable. do not buy Never buy this printer. The printer itself is fine but the WiFI set up is the jankiest thing around I had originally gotten it set up in about 35 frustrating minutes, manually entering the SSID and password, etc. HOWEVER, we got a new router and the printer absolutely refuses to accept the new information. Replace Toner Message Good price, good print quality. But after around 100 pages, the "replace toner" message came on, preventing me from printing the 2900 pages left on the toner cartridge. There is enough guidance on line to convince me that this is a common issue. At this point, both fixes associated with this model do not work for me. I will delete this review immediately if I can find a fix. But at this price, I would rather move to the next best brand than buy Brother toner, which is where the money is made over time.
Piece of junk Worked fine for one year and four months. Now it's a brick. I went to turn it on and nothing. No lights, no nuthin'. I looked up troubleshooting on the Brother website. Did that. Nothing. Still a brick. And, of course, out of warranty.
Do not buy this piece of garbage After reading other reviews I thought I was purchasing a quality product. Boy was I wrong. A little over a year into using the printer it would not power on. I make sure that all of my electronics are plugged into a proper surge protector as a backup as I have a whole home surge protector as well. Brother support decided to send me a refurbished unit and within 2 weeks it did the exact same thing! Wireless does not work The sleep mode is horrible. It’s impossible to wake it up. And the Wi-Fi portion of it does not work. I had two different IT people try and hook it up to do air print from my phone and neither was able to.
DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!! Absolutely terrible product, couldn't get it to connect wirelessly, bought a cord to use it, and after printing 6 pages, it just started printing blank page after blank page until I unplugged it. I am now on hold with tech support. To any potential buyer... save yourself $120 and a lot of trouble and find a better printer.
Can't set up to wifi and doesn't come with USB cord Cannot set up to wifi at all on my Mac laptop and it didn't come with a USB cord for some reason??
Stopped working after 3 months This was the best printer until it stopped turning on. I've tried every forum, help center, and "hack codes" possible to fix the error but no luck.
Terrible- Does Not Even Reach the Level of Being Called a TOY This piece of crap is something out of the 1980;s. I am speechless they sell this garbage in the year 2021. It operates as if a 16K dial-up modem. Avoid this trash. Awful I'd rather have a case of rabies than be stuck with it
