Poor Wi-Fi Printer instructions do not help at all in the setup. I was unable to get the printer to accept WI-fi. The display screen is 2 inches long and 1/8 thick. Hard to read display during setup. I currently have another Brother Laser Print for over 5 years and love it. Unable to reach Brother for guidance. Tech help is contracted out to a third party who charges for their help. This machine is a dog with flea's. Its over priced and hard to use. Don't waste your time with this model.

The toner is a joke! The printer is easy to set up and the wifi worked right away. I'm giving this a 1 star because it printed 430 pages and the toner says "replace", and IT WON'T EVEN ATTEMPT to print a page? What a joke, it is forced toner replacement? And Amazon supports this printer for one month? More of a joke.
Consistent malfunction -- I threw out two in a row I have had about six of this and predecessor Brother small mono laser printers. Never a problem until this model. After a few weeks, I got nothing but 'replace toner' and 'close front cover' error messages, even when the toner was brand new and the front cover well closed. Almost impossible to keep it online and working I've been using this printer for a few months now and it has been almost impossible to keep it online and connected to my PC. Every time I need to print something it is offline. I try using the Brother utilities to get it working with zero success. Two methods do work. 1) I have to print whatever I want to PDF, then use the Brother iPrintandScan to print the PDF. 2) I have to connect a USB cable and reinstall the entire Brother software suite to get it to re-configured and work... read more
Came with the wrong toner, refused to work As indicated this came with a DR- instead of the TN Toner. Amazon offered to buy a new one for $20 which was a better deal than the $50 I spent down the street for the toner I needed at the time to PRINT SOMETHING. Put it in and got a never ending paper jam message which I could never get to stop. Never even put paper in it. Spent close to $200 for a Brother printer and ink and replacement plan for the ink and got garbage.
Bad wifi Did not connect to a modern router for wifi printing. Only connects to 2.4ghz, and won't operate with an Orbi.
Don't Purchase I love this printer when it's working. Unfortunately as others have noted, it will go into Deep Sleep. Once you resolve that problem, then the next issue you will need to deal with is that it stops recognizing your network. You'll end up spending an hour troubleshooting the issue and it's just not worth your time. I wish I had listened to the negative reviews before I purchased. You definitely shouldn't purchase this.
No idea how it looks printed because the dang thing won't connect. My computer doesn't have a CD drive, so I've been trying to connect my printer to my wi-fi. It didn't come with the proper cables, so I had to order those, and it has just sat here for 2 months collecting dust while I get progressively angrier trying to get it set-up.
