Cannot get it to work! I was unable to print as they describe in the instructions. I had to call for tech support and after about 2 hours we got a page to print. It printed a couple more times and not it won't print again. I want to return this item but the window has closed for returns. It's a $90 paper holder now. Useless.
Lasted Under a Year of Normal Use - Will Make Your Power Go Out Just like most printers nowadays, it's designed to stop working after X amount of time so we all just keep buying printers. I only print on average 100 pages a week and it failed in less than 12 months from when I hooked it up. Tried a factory reset, didn't solve anything. Paper jams happened at least once a week and it regularly would grab 5+ sheets of paper and push them through as one and mess up the document I was trying to print. it's garbage And I put it in the garbage cause it's too late to return it. the wifi stopped working on it. So I hooked via usb and it's own software could not find it, tried doing a full install, still no printer. I stop trying. came back later to get it going and some how it tried to go to driver one software(I consider malware). Check to see if I could send it back and it's was too late. I WILL NEVER BUY A BROTHER device again.
I was only able to print 200-300 pages before I ran out of toner The printer works fine, print quality is not bad but not good, but running out of toner so quickly is ridiculous.
It died after 12 months About 13 months after it arrived, it simply wouldn't turn on anymore. I tried various fixes provided online, to no avail. When I described it to Brother, the rep told me because it was after 12 months, I couldn't return it. I spoke to a local repair shop, they said it wasn't worth fixing, and added that this tended to happen with this particular model.
Buy extra toner! Really ticked off that I had to buy a new toner three months in. What a scam.
Needed new toner after less than 300 pages Had this printer for 3 months and haven't even printed through 1 ream of paper and it already quit and needs new toner. I bought this thinking it would be easy, but now I just have to feed it more toner when I've barely had it a quarter. Annoyed.
Tough to connect to wireless network Continue to have problems connecting it to my wireless network. Pretty frustrating. I guess we can do WIFI Direct but seems like the network would be easier. Print quality is fine.
Doesn’t connect. Don’t buy. This printer has been nothing but a headache. The “wireless” feature is completely useless and the printer has to be restarted sometimes multiple times before connecting.
