multi size sheet printer This is not a machine that can print multiple size sheets consecutively. You will need a 2 tray printer for this feature. One 8.5x11 and one 8.5x14.
Absolute junk -- Always had trouble waking from sleep, but now it has slipped into a coma. This printer has always had problems waking from sleep when I print something. Often the print queue is jammed/stuck with some document that can't be deleted. I usually end up uninstalling and then reinstalling it every time I need to use it. Now, after about a year, it won't even start up any more. People complain about Brother and their print cartridge management system, but I never even made it to the end of one cartridge. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TEMPERAMENTAL, COUNTER-INTUITIVE HUNK OF CRAP i used this stupid thing once and now it refuses to come back online and wont get out of sleep mode. this is the most user unfriendly device ever.
The printer is continuously disconnecting from the network The issue started after using it for few months and I tried everything to resolve it. Nothing works and the tech support is very bad. This is my last Brother printer
Useless after a year Bought this printer 2 years ago. Worked great for a year and a half. It’s been basically useless for the last few months. Constantly on sleep mode, not discoverable on WiFi anymore, bought a plug to connect to my laptop manually which worked once and now it’s completely useless. Doesn’t work at all anymore. It’s constantly in Sleep mode. I’ve tried everything. Reset the Sleep mode timer etc. On top of that, the customer service is non-existent. A shame because it was great for a year.
Average quality, bit noisy Pretty mediocre, cheap printer. Out of the box it's not in Quiet Mode and it sounds like a jet engine when printing. Definitely recommend enabling Quiet Mode. Print quality for text is decent, images are just so-so. I had one episode when it went into Deep Sleep and needed to be woken up from the panel. Hope that's not going to be an ongoing thing. Garbage I bought this two years ago and have gotten it to print around 10 pages total. I've fought with its connection issues--you can fight with it to get it connected initially, then it works and you'll think it should at least be fine in the future, but it never is, even when it's hardwired. Yep, you read that right; it still could not connect when it was hardwired. Now, I'm totally giving up, because when I turn it on, it crashes whatever it is on the outlet with. Sleeps too much This printer is always in sleep mode and I never can print anything. I have even restarted and attempted to print and it goes into sleep mode right away. I wish I could return but I am outside my return window. When it does work, the print quality and quick printing is wonderful. I wish I would have purchased something with a copy or scan feature, as there have been many instances where I needed to use that.
