Envelope printing If you want to print envelopes, don't purchase this printer. The procedure to print them without wrinkles is too time consuming.
Network Issues I only printed one document for the entire lifetime of this printer. After a month or so it'll start a problem with your network and it keeps saying 'connecting to Wlan". Waited forever almost a few hours, still no luck
Waste of money The printer works fine - WHEN IT WORKS, which is whenever it wants to, apparently. The machine tends to go to sleep and doesn't want to wake up. Google this model and you'll see it is a very common problem and no ready solution. The keypad is worthless for figuring anything out. I have been trying to print a document for the last half hour and my frustration is through the roof. Will never buy another Brother printer again.
It's all in the service.. I bought this printer in April 2019 and used it during nursing school in which all of our powerpoints had to be printed. It worked great and the toner that came with it has lasted me through January 2020 (it lasts much longer after the low toner notification). Junk printer This. Is no good printer bought new ink cartridge when bought didn’t work long enough to use the one came with still was good tried everything the said to do went in garbage 5 months old
Terrible Printer & Support This printer stopped working after only a few months. Called tech support, spent over 30 minutes on the phone, and they said it would cost $299 to fix but more if we wanted unlimited help.
Small, prints well This was a replacement for an old Brother unit, and it is an improvement. Small, easy enough to setup (using CUPS on FreeBSD). Knocking down one star because sometimes -- rarely -- a sheet can get stuck inside and is a pain to remove. I suppose, all printers have this problem -- and there is no 5-star rated one out there...
No power after 100 days Very frustrating - one day it was printing and the next it seems to have a bad power supply. Tried all the tips to "wake it up" but no joy. Power supply replacement costs a third of the cost of the printer which I won't take a chance on. 100 days.... last time I order a Brother item.
Not wireless I need to be able to print from my phone or tablet. Printer does not seem to be wireless. It cane with a CD. Seems like you need a laptop or PC to use it and/or set it up. I’ve fought with it for a week. I give up.
