Don’t Buy!! I had it for less than a year and now it won’t even turn on.
Absolute trash Stopped working after 16 months. Even before it stopped working, I also dealt with the issue that others talked about here... it would go to sleep and then, in order to print, I'd have to manually turn it off then turn it on again. I live in a small space and so it's tucked under a desk, and this was super annoying. I finally put the VERY expensive ink charger in it b/c the initial ink ran out. It prints fine, great! Goes to Sleep and Won't Wake—Total Waste of Money This printer rarely works. Sometimes it wakes for a print job but usually requires a call to Brother Tech Support, which even then success is hit or miss. Tech Support usually ends up advising me to uninstall the software and then perform a reinstall—I have had to do this seven or eight times in order to use the printer. Died in 13 months Just over 1 year of ownership it just stopped working. Completely no power. Tried different plugs to make sure it wasn’t electrical problem on our side. Emailed customer service at Brother and received no response. I’m disappointed and convinced printers are built to fail. It lasted just over a year (13 months) so just out of product coverage. Very disappointed and will look for a different brand next.
Works well when it works This printer prints fast and great quality when it decides to work. Half of the time though, it either never wakes up from sleep mode or it takes it over 15 minutes to wake up and print a job from a computer sitting right next to it.
Wireless does not work. Too hard to setup. Sometimes the truth hurts when there is no marketing spin on it. The wireless feature of the is printer might as well not exist. Unless you know how to hack around with your router, printing wirelessly is just not possible. Any printer needs to be able to connect wirelessly to any device by simply pressing "connect". That's it. Nothing else. I have no idea how to connect this printer to either a mac or a PC. Complete ZERO on wireless capablity, which is the MAIN reason I bought it!@

I build computers myself- but this one is NO GO to set up!!! STOP WORKING LAST WEEK.
