Unable to connect to printer through Wi-Fi Have followed all the very poorly written instructions to set up the Wi-Fi connection and the printer will not connect/will not show up on my network. Controls on printer do not work. Very disappointed in this product and will return it.
not user friendly does not hold wireless signal very well
Won't recognize compatible toner cartridges The printer did a good job but when it came time to change the cartridge, it wouldn't accept a compatible toner, I tried a second time with a different brand and same result. Now I have to decide whether to pay 3x as much for the Brother brand cartridge -- almost as much as the cost of the printer -- or try another off brand. Anyway, beware if you expect to replace toner with compatibles.
Do not buy this from Amazon! I bought this to use for home printing. Had to call a serviceman to install it because, unknown to me, it had been used and returned and sold as new. When the serviceman went to hook it to the cloud he discovered it already had a pasword in it and he couldn't get it out. So I am stuck. Very unhappy. Brother on the phone help are worthless.
Could Not Get it to Work with Chrome Book Tried for a long time to get it to print with Chrome Book. Finally gave up. Not sure if it is a Chrome issue, a printer issue, or a me issue. Some online research shows that Bother does not support Chrome. Bothers's website says " We don't offer support for scanning to your Chrome OS device or Chromebook." I am going to try some printers that say they are Chrome friendly.
A paperweight masquerading as a printer. How do I hate this printer? Let me count the ways. Hard to Set up I've been trying to set this up both on USB and wireless for almost an hour now. The printer refuses to find either option.
Printer won't connect...I tried everything! SHORT VERSION: Don't buy this printer! While it initially connected to the network and would print from my computer, it quickly stopped working and refuses to work, despite many different attempted fixes. Frustrating Update: It never connects. I waste about 10 minutes trying to get it to start every time I want to print something. I've had it a month and I'm considering buying a replacement printer. It's so bad. It's a good printer - very fast, automatic double side, when the connection works. Unfortunately it takes a lot of trial and error every time I want to print something as it can never be found by my laptop, even when it says 'ready' and the wifi shows connectivity.
