Never a Brother again Had this for 24 hours. Could not get it set up. The meager instructions were for multiple printers so had a hard time figuring out what was specific to my model. After too long of a time experimenting, I finally arrived at the point to enter my wifi password to enable the printer (yes, that antiquated method was their only option.) Pretty sad Pretty sad is an understatement. I read the reviews about the difficulty in connecting this printer to wifi but thought I can handle this. Having read the reviews I knew not to spend more than 20 minutes trying to set it up by wifi. I connected it to the USB printer cable I had been using and set it up with the Win 7 computer that my former Brother printer was on. All went fairly well and it wanted to install a firmware update. Its a printer Doesnt cause problems like HP or Epson. Light drivers. I just needed a dang printer that printed well. Not a printer that scans well and super sucks at printing. Like printers don't even print anymore or HP will expire their ink cartridges based on coded date rather than actual use. Conspiracy. This laser printer prints and doesnt disappoint.
Not worth it! This was a total lemon! Would not connect to WiFi and paper roller did not work and said low on toner! Strike 3 it was out!
WATCH OUT MAC USERS! this printer is totally incompatible with recent Macs--I am running 10.13 High Sierra and it WON'T WORK. Brother is well aware of the problem but you won't see disclaimers advertising the fact. I'm furious at having spent almost $100 on a printer that does not work at all.
Paper jammed more than 5 times While printing less than 20 pages, the paper got jammed more than 5 times which was sooo frustrating. Will use a different type of paper next time to see if that makes a difference. Set up was relatively easy but typing in a 12 character Wifi passcode with only up/down buttons was laborious. Not the best printer to use when you have roommates because the noise is pretty loud.
Meh So when I unboxed the printer, the back door of the pinter was semi-opened. I opened it and find three loosen pieces. It took me 30 min. To put them in place, trying to be careful, then I thoughts that they send me a refurbished printer. Besides that situation, the (T1) paper tray has problems reading or taking the paper.
Can't print more than one page without resetting printer, no Chromebook printing at all It seems like I got one of the duds. Have managed to print 12-15 sheets, but have to reset the printer every time. Cannot print off my wife's Chromebook at all despite the printer being discoverable on the network and Chrome indicating that the printer is connected and printing has been successful. Attempts to print test pages after being told the printing from Chrome has been "successful" and while the screen reads "Ready," are met with ... read more
