After three weeks in, 104 pages printed...smudges on right side. Not covered under warranty! Having a Monochrome Brother printer for three years running, no problems. Bought this one for color. Three weeks in and 104 pages printed, got smudges on right side, some pages worse than others. Called Brother support to a less than concerned rep - found out a replacement of toner cartage is needed to fix the issue. Holds you hostage for expensive toner that runs out too soon Brother no longer allows you to replace the toner when you want. They hold you hostage to buy "genuine brother" toner that is actually lower quality and does fewer prints than aftermarket toner. Third-party toner is hit or miss because brother constantly updates their "block list" I just want a boring printer with no DRM Chips on the toner please. This is ridiculous and useless. Does NOT actually print duplex! I purchased this one over another, less expensive, model specifically because it said you could print duplex. It does NOT print duplex. You have to manually figure it out. Very inconvenient when you're trying to print documents that are more than 2 pages long. Print quality and all other features are perfect. Just don't buy this if you were sold on the "duplex" capabilities. Very disappointed.

WARNING: deep sleep Do not purchase this printer. Even though the printing is fine for a home office, once the printer enters deep sleep mode or sleep mode, it will never come out of its slumber. Turning it back on and off does not resolve the issue. Whats the problem with deep sleep? It is unable to receive WiFi jobs. So I had to purchase a USB cable to directly connect to the printer.
