There was only one working elevator for 210 rooms. With 36 floors, the stairs were not an option for most. The wait for the elevator was ridiculous. Check in was delayed because housekeeping could not get from one floor to another in a timely fashion. Every single guest we encountered was complaining about this.
This was the worst hotel experience I ever had. The check-in time on the website is 3 pm. We arrived there at 4:05 pm and our room was not ready. They said we had to come back in 30 minutes to check if it was ready. When we finally got our room, we had to go back to the lobby because the room cards didn't work. On top of that, they only have 2 elevators. 1 elevator wasn't working. The wait time to use the elevator is over 30 minutes. One of the two elevators was down. The second and only other elevator also didn’t work often. The room was rundown appearing and bathroom could have been much clearer.
Loved the included breakfast but… rooms are clean but so tiny and dated, staff was very unaccommodating when approached with issues, and key cards are horrendous, particularly when one elevator out of the 2 are not working for the whole 5 day stay… way too many stairs had to be walked in order to get in or out of the hotel at peak times, and when walking to the top of 20 floors to find your room key, once again not working… beyond frustrating!
The elevators doesn’t work
Hotel wouldn't honor my reservation, overbooked room type. Keys kept not working, elevator not working.
Worst stay in NYC in all my years. My whole stay was with only 1 elevator. The other was damaged and never saw a technician or heard they where fixing it. The hotel was sold out. Imagine yourself in the morning, wanting to go from the 26 floor to the breakfast and having to wait for 15 minutes the elevator. Same as when you returned at 10 PM doing a line of 20 guests to get into the elevator to go to your room. That was insane. One night my daughter had to switch rooms and the elevator took so long that we preferred to take ... read more
