Japanese Auto Masters was founded in 1982 by Tom and Cindi Potter in a small shop close to the Virginia Beach oceanfront. Tom originated Japanese Auto Masters to address the needs of consumers driving Japanese-made vehicles at a time when there were no independent repair service centers that specialized exclusively in all Japanese makes and models. We also service all Domestic vehicles as well.

A family-run auto repair shop of the highest quality and integrity! The owner's desk is at the front door and you know right away he is looking out for his customers' well-being and for ensuring a satisfactory repair experience. It is the kind of place with the old-fashioned ethic that is so often lacking today, but with modern equipment and well-trained technicians. The staff is friendly and even the waiting room is hospitable.

I do observe business from the front, not to override the Service Advisers, but because I am concerned about the customer and I want to be sure they are treated fairly and to help out when things get busy. I also am not a believer in answering machines during working hours. We have enough phones and people to answer them. tp
Very Helpful & Great Service. They called me the night before a big snowstorm to see if I wanted to drop my car off early. It wasn't convenient for me so they offered to reschedule a day later at the same time so I could avoid the weather. Overall, the service was excellent and they left a handy set of paperwork and perks in my car. This was my first appointment with them just for a simple state inspection, but will definitely consider going back for other service when needed.

The electric window in our Mazda Speed 6 wasn’t working correctly and finally would not go up all the way. I called a dealership to get a quote on the repair and explained the issue in great detail, but the dealership said I would have to drop off the car before they could give me a quote. It is sometimes very difficult to estimate costs over the phone even with the best descriptions of the concern, but we try. As far as the radial tire pull the car was exhibiting; rotating the tire to the rear may resolve the problem, but I suppose it would be best to consider replacing that tire or the pair on that axle some time in the near future.
