Was there with my 10 year old son for dinner, sat at my table for 27 minutes, got one drink served, no orders were taken and no one came to check on us. I saw 4 different servers and a bartender, 6 tables seated and we couldn’t get service. Staff is all chatting and laughing with each other so we got up and left.. I was there last night having a girls night with one of my girlfriends. The service was horrible. Our sever was not attentive at all and barely came and checked on us. It took a half an hour for drinks to be brought to our table and another 20 minutes for her to come and take our order. We arrived there at 9pm and it wasn’t even busy for the service to be that poor. Waited over 20 minutes for my reservation and they weren’t able to accommodate my upstairs/patio which I reserved. Not the first time this has happened. Can clearly see tables available - was not busy at 5pm. Ended up leaving
Despite having booked a reservation, we were seated at a high table by the bar where the music was played extremely loud. I arrived after my friend who had already ordered a bottle of water. After looking around and seeing a number of available tables on the bar side and other tables on the other side, I asked a hostess who was passing by if we could move to an open table given that I had booked a reservation to avoid sitting at a high table. As someone who has worked in restaurants before, this visit was extremely disappointing. To start, the service was terrible. Our server made it seem like she didn’t want to be there. First issue was after we had our apps, rather than offering fresh cutlery she was like you want to put them on the table, until your mains come out. We should have either been given fresh cutlery or asked if we wanted fresh cutlery. Then when the mains came out, the steak was cold. I let her know and she sent it back. This reservation at Joey Sherway was for a birthday celebration which the staff claimed that they did not know. It was clearly stated in the reservation made. They did not acknowledge the birthday for the special person. Overall, very disappointing.
