Shame on Toyota of Johnson City! I have driven Toyotas for 16 years now and consider myself brand loyal. I was shocked and absolutely floored to hear how he was treated at this particular dealership. My brother came into the dealership this past Friday and made a deal on a truck. An offer and deal sheet were made up and sent to my brothers bank on December 31st, in the afternoon. Not the company they were last time I bought from them. Management will not return calls, only sales do. Add-ons they sale.... not as sold.

We bought a Land Cruiser here that should have gone to auction or sold for parts instead of being sold at a reputable dealership. I should have realized when Kelly Winchell wouldn’t let me see underneath it or put it on a lift that there were problems, but he assured me it was all undercoated so the undercarriage was in great shape. The frame is toast. We’ve had numerous rust-related issues including brake and gas line failures. I’d recommend considering a different and more honest dealership.

I purchased a car and haven’t had it a year and it’s been nothing but problems. I purchased the warranty with the car and they can’t fix it plus I said I was tired of having the same issue occur and I spoke with a manger and he told me he was trying to get in contact with the warranty place and could not get an answer, than stated he had it worked out with the sales manger to allow a trade in. UPDATED::::: I would not recommend Johnson City Toyota This was the second vehicle I have brought from them so being a return customer means nothing to them. It has been over 2 months now and I haven’t received my tag or any paperwork from the state and when I called for the 3rd or 4th time I find out another bank had a lend on the vehicle that Johnson City Toyota sold me which they didn’t disclose to me at the time of purchase. Very poor communication skills. I have NEVER heard of it taking 4 days to just submit information to a lender. Once submitted, 4 days later, at 430am my credit report got hit 17 times!!!!!! THAN they wanted over 30% down on a vehicle. I own a business and my credit is not that horrible, kept trying to get more and more of a deposit out of me before my credit was even ran. I’d advise going elsewhere. Based on JUST what we went through before credit was even ran, I am EXTREMELY happy I did not go through with them.

Finance dept. promised in writing to transfer our 12 year old specialty tags as part of the deal. When their was a name issue preventing completion, they did NOT make us aware even though they knew prior to our signing. A month later when we find out when we receive new tags finance mgr offered no explanation or apology or even an acknowledgment of this failure to abide by our deal terms. Here’s the thing… they were totally awesome! Great deal, found financing, perfect vehicle. Experience was awesome!!! BUT…. My SUV was missing a rear headrest. That’s a huge safety issue since I run a hiking group and Transport people in my vehicle all the time. My salesperson, Dustin, assured me I would get one. Even on the ticket i signed before the sale. Would not recommend. I trade trucks every year or two and will not be back here or any of the other dealerships in this auto group. Very shady tacking on additional charges. If you do buy from these people triple check your paperwork. Also I was only given one key with my truck and was told they would get me a spare. Well it’s been two weeks and it’s nothing but crickets so I will end up just buying one from the Toyota dealership just not this one.
