Get directionsIf I could give 0 stars, I would! Unnecessary tests on your pets, and they let your pet die. They are just a cash cow. Look up the awful reviews for yourself, and they are currently under investigation.
This was ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE possible. We called to see if our Furbaby could be seen. Response sure. 5 hours later we had an hurriedness experience. We were asked if we would like RESUSCITATION OR DNR WTF. We requested that nothing be done without speaking to us first. Well that didn't happen. The bed side manner was terrible. I will say that the Vet that ultimately saw us was very nice. What lead up to that NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO ENDURE. STAY AWAY! Go somewhere else.
Avoid this place at all costs, the vet miss diagnosed my dog, I couldn't understand his broken English due to his very poor verbal skills. The receptionist had very disgusting attitude problem as well. Other people there were professional and nice but this goes to show you it only takes one to ruin their reputation. I seriously hope they get rid of these people!
Do not come here for any emergencies. We took my cat here due to this being the closest emergency center and completely regret it. The veterinarian had sent us multiple locations to go to due to the breathing problems my cat was experiencing. No one seemed to care and made us wait over 2 hours and the entire time we were told she was getting an X-Ray. After constantly asking questions on what was going on we find out they had done absolutely NOTHING so we left. We went to a different location a little farther away and they t... read more
I truly do not like providing bad reviews and after looking at other RECENT reviews of LIVS I realize I'm not alone in my image of this facility. Our pet was inadvertently given medication for our other much larger pup. We were going to head to another emergency vet we had used recently for specialty surgery but decided to head to LIVS because it was closer. Hindsight being 20/20 we should have followed our gut and driven a slightly further distance. Our lil guy was given hydrogen peroxide at home to induce vomiting after ... read more
Long Island Veterinary Specialists are a nightmare. They will not treat your pet until the bill is paid in full. My dog dislocated her hip and required surgery. Over $16000 later and my dog is dead from internal bleeding because the bone was leaning on her intestines. Now I am being harassed for more money. At first they said I had a credit. But when I asked for the credit, they suddenly said the I owed them. As I paid for serves and boarding BEFORE she received treatment, how can there be an outstanding balance. And I have... read more
I started coming here back in 2017-2018ish due to a required back surgery for my German shepherd. Everything went super well! The staff was great and helpful. About 5-6 months post surgery, my pup developed a seizure disorder. The seizures are somewhat being regulated with medication, however seizures still occur every month. Now in 2023, i have had numerous visits and it appears to me that the quality of service has declined and the fees have increased significantly! I compare some basic services to my local vet, wh... read more
DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE! DR. KARAPET WILL KILL YOUR ANIMAL. I brought my cat in here when she was basically lifeless. My cat was vomiting and had severe diarrhea. After several hours her respiratory was becoming shallow and rapid. I rushed her to Long Island Veterinary Specialist and Dr. Karapet was on staff. My cats body temperature had dropped to 98.0 degrees. A cats body temperature should be around 102 degrees. Dr. Karapet did X-rays on my cat and told me that she didn't see anything wrong. I contacted another veterin... read more
Not at all happy with the treatment my dog received. I brought my shihtzu/lhasa apso mix in on Sunday November 27 with vomiting and diarrhea. I realize that there are life-threatening emergencies that must be given priority. I waited over an hour in the parking lot with a sick dog. I had to keep exiting the car to let my dog relieve himself. It was a cold, rainy day. A tech finally came out and brought my dog inside. I was not allowed in. The tech came back out with an estimate of the cost; $1065. I questioned the need for a... read more
