DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE! DR. KARAPET WILL KILL YOUR ANIMAL. I brought my cat in here when she was basically lifeless. My cat was vomiting and had severe diarrhea. After several hours her respiratory was becoming shallow and rapid. I rushed her to Long Island Veterinary Specialist and Dr. Karapet was on staff. My cats body temperature had dropped to 98.0 degrees. A cats body temperature should be around 102 degrees. Dr. Karapet did X-rays on my cat and told me that she didn't see anything wrong. I contacted another veterin... read more

Not at all happy with the treatment my dog received. I brought my shihtzu/lhasa apso mix in on Sunday November 27 with vomiting and diarrhea. I realize that there are life-threatening emergencies that must be given priority. I waited over an hour in the parking lot with a sick dog. I had to keep exiting the car to let my dog relieve himself. It was a cold, rainy day. A tech finally came out and brought my dog inside. I was not allowed in. The tech came back out with an estimate of the cost; $1065. I questioned the need for a... read more

Brought my cat here on a Friday, they told me they had a patient crashing and that there would be a wait, understandable. Two people arrived after me with their dogs and were able to be seen. I ended up going to VCA in Westbury. Found out my cat was blind and would need to see a neurologist. Her condition started to get worse. Her limbs started to get weak. I brought her back the following day and was told I would need to wait, again understandable. People arrived after me and were seen. An hour later I receive a phone cal... read more

This Veterinarian center is about as inhumane a service as can be imagined. First of all you are not permitted in the building. Under the guise of being in construction they ask that you wait in your car with your sick or injured pet. I am in the construction industry and can tell you they are not in the throes of a renovation. That said, you need to call when you arrive in the back parking lot at which time they do an intake on the phone. They asked that we wait for 1 1/2 hours but that a tech would come out to ensure our ... read more

Do not go here! They will google your address to see what your house looks like and depending on how much money they think you have is the level of care they will provide. Horrible hospital

Sad to say I had to put my cat down after being ignored by LIVS personnel. I brought my first dog here years ago, probably around 2010. They were absolutely amazing. Something changed. I brought my cat a week ago. I called prior to, to make sure it was still a 24/7 emergency location. They told me it was. It is by no means an emergency location. When you drive up there's a sign that tells you to call the number listed. You give them your spot number and they come get your pet. Except nobody answered. So I called the main num... read more

I do NOT recommend LIVS for your pet's needs and services. I want to start off by saying that our family has tried multiple times to lodge a complaint to no success after our recent horrifying visit (not our first time here; I must add, however, that Dr. Kay Kim is an amazing ophthalmologist). We have called 3 times, spaced out into 3 different weeks as well as leaving 2 voicemails with the operations manager, Lexi, who overlooks the whole facility and have yet to receive a call back... Since our opinions don't seem to matte... read more

Do NOT come here!! This place is horrible! If I can put zero stars I would!! I was referred here from my vet and it was the worst decision I have ever made. My dog had something abnormal in her stomach and my vet referred us to this place. She took my dog in right away which was great but I waited 2.5 hours until I received a call for an ESTIMATE! There were a bunch of dogs going in and out and I waited that long for an estimate... ABSURD. Finally when everything was all paid for the vet said they are bringing the ultrasound... read more

Stay away--this place is only interested in your wallet--they misdiagnosed my dog from the second he got there then did a bunch of needless expensive diagnostics--as soon as I got him home I threw out the meds they gave me and he is fine--he probably was just a little under the weather.

Business response:

Hi Paul. We're sorry to hear that you did not have a positive experience with us. If you are willing to give us a call at your convenience, we would like to talk more about your pet's visit: (516) 501-1700.
