I rescued a 9 week old Beagle 5 days ago. I knew the pup could only walk on 3 paws, and was told he was born that way. Once I saw his picture I knew he needed my family to provide a forever home. I picked him up Monday and saw the was he dragged his paw. It was bent almost at a right angle and was slightly red at the elbow joint. Dr. Marino and the staff at LIVS are absolutely amazing. Even with all of the challenges created by COVID-19, the entire operation maintained its high standards of care. Our boy, Logan required cruciate ligament and meniscus surgery right at the height of the pandemic in April. The care he received, including the 6 weeks of physical therapy was top notch and got him back to his old self very quickly. This is my 2nd review of LIVS on here. My first was for Dr. Kim, who was wonderful. On February 14th I had to bring one of my other cats, Munke, here on an emergency visit because he couldn't urinate. He was roaming around the house crying in pain. I took him to LIVS Plainview and he was brought in right away to an exam room where he saw Dr. Kramer, who was also wonderful. We brought our cat in to see an opthamologist after complications from dental surgery. While a long ride from Brooklyn, we were very happy we chose LIVS. Their service was prompt, professional, courteous, helpful and organized. Our cat received exceelent care. We would recommend LIVS with great confidence.

I was recommended this location by my dog's vet to see the ophthalmologist here to treat a corneal ulcer and I'am truly blown away. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff was very friendly. I sat for about 10 mins and was called in. The two nurses who first seen us were very patient with my dog who was a bit aggressive due to nervousness. They were able to calm him down and make him feel comfortable. Excellent care when my pet needed it most. His regular vet didn't know what he had and recommended LI Vet Specialists. They saw him the next day and diagnosed him with an autoimmune condition. It affected his left eyeball. He had a large red lump on the side of his eyeball. They had a few ways to treat and we picked the less invasive way. Unfortunately after 5 day's it was worse and I brought him back. Dr. Kim gave him a steroid injection under the eyelid that slowly releases the steroid. That worked like a charm. Had to take my pup here unexpectedly this past Sunday. Before heading out, I asked two friends for recommendations on where to go. Both said here. Sitting in the waiting room & reading the bad yelp reviews, I was so nervous! I had an extremely positive experience. Dr Underwood was knowledgeable, patient, & compassionate. Recently took my dog here on the recommendation of my veterinarian. The initial consultation, expensive as it was, the doctor provided me with thorough information about the procedures and never rushed me and answered all questions, the consultation itself is about $185 and no it does not go towards the cost of the surgery. As well I was able to speak with my wife the next day. The surgery itself went smoothly and the doctor kept me abreast to the condition of my dog. This is the only place I would take my animals in case of an emergency. The cost is more reasonable than the others and the staff is higher quality. Many awards for taking care of military and police dogs. Saved my cat's life and I wasn't just another customer.
