This is my second time Madison Reed Studio City Color Bar and I can only say it was a totally different experience as far as customer service is concerned. My first time, everyone was so friendly, offered me tea/coffee/water. My stylist was amazing (Jasmine), extremely friendly and so kind. This time my stylist (Jennifer) did the minimum, only checked my records, did my colour, asked me to look up from my phone so my colour wouldn't drip (for which I apologised and then put away my phone for the rest of the time she was doin... read more

Today was my first visit to Madison Reed. I was really impressed by the relaxed atmosphere, and how efficiently the stylists worked while not making your service seem rushed. My stylist was Rachel, and I had a gloss applied and a blowout. She did a great job! I look forward to visiting Madison Reed again.

It's hit an miss depending on the hair stylist you get. Sometimes I feel that the stylist are chattier and nicer to the other clients, and very subdued with me. I think the stylist are over booked and over worked.

UPDATE: I am updating to 3 stars from 2 because they do a great job of following up with customers who did not have a good experience. Not a lot of places do that, so it's respectable! It's worth giving it a chance to see if this is the place for you. Im not the right customer base. I've been meaning to go here for awhile. I am thrilled with my experience. I was warmly greeted and treated by Nick, the manager. The color is perfect and my rinse out and head a massage were incredible. I was able to self-dry my hair which kept the cost down. Thank you to the whole team at Madison Reed in Studio City.

Fortunately I have a good sense of humor, but I didn't receive a very neat balayage. There are areas like this that are very patchy, and I was disappointed the stylist didn't come back and make sure it turned out well. I struggle with getting around, so having to come back in right away wasn't feasible. I was told I could see the manager to have my color corrected, but am having such a hard time getting someone to respond. I can't quite figure out how you get in touch with the salon. Love getting my roots done here for half the price as anywhere else. Membership is $70/month and you can go once a week if needed. :) Products are nice quality, and the take home gloss and conditioner really help keep my red color shiny. Highly recommend those. :)
