I'll start by reporting that the color I get is good, and I'm satisfied with it as I "strut" - Madison Reed's words - out of the store, but this particular shop is showing wear and tear. The greeting space for customers has disappeared to be replaced by couches and chairs that I can only think would be rarely used if appts were met on time. Love this place! I've been going for some time now, I actually said hi to all the colorist and they are fantastic. I want to shout out Celia for this review she did my hair from start to finish today and I love it. She was so gentle and detailed and everything you want when someone is taking care of you & doing ya hair.

I have been here a few times and color is spot on. Great quality, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Was able to get an appointment last minute. Roots look great. I opted for the self blow dry. Brushes, blow dryer in nice area, clean.

Steven (on the Upper East Side) did a great job on my highlights. He took his time in separating out the strands and highlighting them. He was also very diligent in checking back to see when the time was up and my hair should be washed.

I've read some of the reviews which would scare off potential clients. It seems a shame to me. I actually wonder if some posts were mixed up with a totally different salon. For example, someone wrote that MR does not take credit cards. I've used my CC each time. In fact I think that the check out system is fast and accurate. I have been to both upper East Side locations a number of times and like the atmosphere in both locations although the one uptown is quite a bit larger. I like the fact that their products are less toxic than most hair salons & that it was easy to experiment & ask about a slight color change in my roots. I did eventually end up returning to my original color.
