My reg colorist was booked so I tried this place close to my office. I love Madison Reed! If you have skin sensitivity to hair dye, conduct a patch test first. Their colors match my natural hair color. There is something for everyone. The staff is friendly and professional. Book an appointment, and see for yourself.

It's super convenient, especially with the membership much more reasonably priced than most hair color places, and most important for me their products are less toxic than most. They usually do a decent job on the hair but it's a bit hit or miss depending on the person you get on any given day, some are great and really pleasant and some are really abrupt, and I don't think you can request a specific person. Love this place, love the products. My hair is much healthier since I switched to Madison Reed. And the staff at the 3rd avenue location in NYC is so nice. I have the unlimited monthly membership and it's amazing!

I should have read the reviews here before going. At $95-$100 base for balayage (kind of a steal compared to other places I've seen), should have expected to have some issues. The staff were all extremely nice, and I don't want to take away from that, but some flaws in the whole process that resulted in a weirdly incomplete dye job that I'll definitely have to correct at home or at another salon. Jane is great! It was awkward at first because she didn't talk too much or asking me any questions... but once she started she was attentive, detailed and patient. The only thing.. I honestly felt being rushed towards end by the owner.. he came by and reminded Jane twice that the next customer has arrived.
