Poor tech support I bought this printer a little over a year ago. Worked fine until recently. I had to contact tech support for the first time and am now on tech person # 5 with the issue remaining unresolved. The techs seem inept. The last person gave me a link and told me to try fixing the problem myself!!!! Such a shame that a relatively good product cannot back it up with better customer and tech support. I will not purchase a Brother product again and am replacing my printer with a HP.

NOT a refillable tank printer. The “investment tank” feature fooled me into thinking that it was a refillable tank printer.
Printed one document and quit It would say receiving data, but it would never print after the first document. I tried reinstalling the drivers, rebooting both my Windows 7 PC and my printer, tried a different cable (that I know works as I have a scanner that doesn't print anymore and used it the same day), tried different USB port, tried hooking up to wi-fi to print remotely, nope. 9 months later it stopped working Do not buy!
Never buying Brother again My last Brother was getting pretty old, and though I was never very happy with it, I was sold by the reviews on this particular new model. I've had this for about a month, and about 1 in every 6 pages gets jammed. I have to remove the paper jam from the back, and when it's cleared, the printer thinks the page was printed, so I have to manually go and tell the computer to print it again.
Awful, slow and doesn't scan Save your money. This is an awful printer. Scanning doesn't actually work, the app crashes and scanning directly from printer to PC is not possible (I'm using it as network printer, so it may work if you want it plugged it). Paper also jams when printing more than 5 pages at a time. Constantly. Horrible customer service from brother Waited 30 minutes to speak to a person. Printer broke after three months. They sent me to a printer business to fix it and it’s been closed for six months. Waited on hold again for 30 minutes and gave up. Buying something else!
While everyting is going smart, this printer is going the other way. Printer is lacking many important features for users demanding more than just a printer. - Cannot scan two sided document - does not have "draft print" feature for temporary needed prints - lacks fit to paper size option which can fit the smaller or larger page to standard "letter" size paper. dialog shows Fit option but it does nothing at all. - limited capability of producing multiple pages on one sheet of paper or book feature prints.
