Decent workhorse for a home office Everything is great about it but it's a pain in the neck to set it up. I've been working in IT for 20+ years but the first time in my life I had to call customer support to help me set this sucker up. Pros - a lot Cons - pretty dumb design --> the printed paper comes out on the front but not enough so you have to reach in with your fingers and clip them out. This printer is a gem. I'll buy Brother again. Great little printer. It's an AirPrint printer, and Brother supplies their own print drivers as well although I've not seen the need to use them. Tremendous upgrade from my prior HP MFP M2727nf, from software quality to functionality to TCO - much less expensive to operate unless you print more than 4000 pages/month. Fixed and Fantastic When I first received this printer, it would print 40-60 double-sided pages and then run out of memory. There was no useful troubleshooting in the manuals; and I couldn't find settings that would make a difference. I posted a negative review. Christopher T Zalla commented on my review, saying he'd had the same problem and had it resolved through Brother Customer Support. He posted the steps they gave him to fix it. Excellent printer, copier, scanner. Excellent printer, copier, scanner. Great value for money. My earlier printer/copier/scanner was also from Brother. Am still very happy with it after 4 years of purchasing it. But, it was a inket device and its throughput was low. So, started shopping around for a Laser printer and I did quite a bit of research comparing similar products from HP and Canon. It was easy to set up on a wireless network I wanted this because of the duplex scanning. Sofar ive been impressed. It was easy to set up on a wireless network. The output tray is small but then when I found out that you can pull the scanner part up for more space. So if im printing alot of pages then I pull that part up. The scan to file worked great and the scan to excel worked pretty well. You do have to keep the glass clean. I did find a line going through the middle. So I cleaned the glass and the line was gone. Pretty good functionality for the price compared to my ~5 ... Pretty good functionality for the price compared to my ~5 yr old HP color Inkjet. It would be nice to print in color but I hardly ever need it and I'll pay a lot more for that, both in printer and toner. I like the auto 2-sided scan and print functionality, the touch screen (keys get dirty and worn), easy set up for mac OS, toner replacement costs about the same as HP's Inkjet cartridge but lasts much longer. I like this printer I like this printer. Good functionality and performance at a decent price point. Somewhat easy to set up, too. Minor issues to note are: (1) auto document feeder sometimes feeds pages in slightly crooked when scanning. Larger bundles of same size pages don't seem to have this problem. Use the flatbed if you have odd size sheets to scan; (2) it's kind of loud when printing. One thing I do like is that this model has wifi. So I don't even bother to connect it to any PC on USB. Awesome Machine - Great Price!!! This is my 3rd Brother Printer. Not because they go bad, but because they get better. I had an Multifunction 7840W and really enjoyed it. Always wanted 2 sided scanning though and when I saw this I bought it and gave my 7840W to a friend. It is easy to use and I love being able to scan documents to an FTP server. Scanning and Printing are both fast. I also like that I can create scanning short cuts for actions I do often. Great job on this machine Brother!!!
